ELUL, DAY 3 –YOU GOD, ARE MY GOD

REFERENCE: Prayer Schedule: Our 29 Day Banquet of Prayer ELUL, OUR 29 DAY BANQUET OF PRAYER… TO HONOR THE KING OF GLORY!

HIGHLIGHTING PSALM 63 KJV

You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10 They will be given over to the sword
    and become food for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by God will glory in him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

TalkTorahToMe.CAFE. –Our Speech Can Be A Lethal Weapon or A Means to Salvation.

During the Month of Elul, Stay The Course!

LEV 19:16-18

16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord.

17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

loshon hará ~ evil speech

…is language that does harm to another. Loshon hara is a profane use of the tongue, language that does harm to other nations and people. Loshon Hara is speech – a wicked and perverse form of lspeech that harms our own futures and threatens our destiny- neutralizing and undermining our power in prayer.

We are very familiar with lotion hara, even though we may have never heard it called by that name. We’ve seen the devastation it causes to another person’s spirit. It’s very familiar.

During this Month of Elul, (August 20 – September 17)

…We are going to keep our eye on our tongues…standing the watch over our own speech. No form of evil speech will escape our tongue. No gossip, no murmuring, so chiding or complaining, no slandering, no rebukes, no grudges, no insults, no toxic or poisonous language of any kind.

We will not allow our personal Panina’s to provoke us while we are on our spiritual journey to the Temple of GOD (1 Samuel). During the Month of Elul, we are on a mission!

We are doing this for a few reasons:

  • We are determined to elevate spiritually to a new level.
  • Our speech can elevate us or block us in regards to our ability to obtain that higher level.
  • Our words have power, (It’s time to really believe that). and that power can only be released through holy speech.
  • Our speech is the foundation of all of our prayers and…
  • Your prayers are essential. People need your prayers. Your neighbor needs your prayer, right now. Your prayers can mend the World.

Man was Created a Speaking Spirit...

We discussed this last year in setting the stage for our classes. (Highlights of that teaching can be found in MAN IS A SPEAKING SPIRIT )

Gen 2.7 “And the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and man became a living soul.

You will recall, the portion of the verse that reads “man became a living soul” actually reads, man became a speaking spirit.

It is right in this moment that the speech of mankind became Holy.

Your speech is meant to be Holy, to Glorify GOD, to Bless and not curse, to edify and encourage, to tear down (strongholds) and to build up (each other), and so much more good than we can ever imagine!

Our words (and prayers) have no limitations in the spirit. We’ve seen what our words can do in the natural. How much more could they accomplish when we consecrate our words and prayers to GOD?

What makes language holy is that it was given by GOD only to mankind. If we take something as pure and Holy as Language, our gift from GOD, and use it in a profane manner; to hurt, condemn, criticize, offend, destroy, etc. then we corrupt GOD’s language and disrespect GOD.

Gen 2:15 “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”

“to dress it and to keep it” from the Hebrew Language is “to avad, to serve and to keep watch, guard/protect. Ref: Adam was not in Agriculture…

Our ears (as Christians) are atuned to hearing, “to dress it and keep it” for so long that we might miss the charge of what GOD really assigned Adam to do.

No where else in scripture is there support for an understanding that Adam was a horticulturist, agriculturalist, etc.

When I speak of this to some students, they feel like the word of GOD is being rewritten before their eyes and it’s very hard to process.

Was Adam a Worshipper or a Farmer?

Was his responsibility to guard and protect the anointing, to praise and worship, to draw closer to GOD? Or to grow plants and vegetables?

What we do find support for in scripture is that Adam was a worshipper, his service was to GOD. That his job was to guard and protect the anointing, that he was to protect GOD’s creation, all of it. (Disobedience affected his ability to carry our his assignment too).

Adam had work to do, certainly. But it was a spiritual kind of work in service to GOD, Avodah. Avodah has been interpreted in scripture as physical work. What I want to focus on instead, is our first work. Before caring for fields and gardens. Before building and creating and inventing.

We have the assignment to build and create with our words.

Getting our speech back in right alignment to GOD, is going to make all the difference in the level of effectiveness and fervency of our prayers.

How far we can go walking in the anointing will all begin and depend with our speech.

Mankind is a speaking spirit. Our words have spiritual impact. GOD created the world through the spoken word. Our speech can build up or tear down this creation.

Speak life and live.

DAY 2 –Entering the Month of Elul and the Sanctuary of GOD.

Prayer Schedule: ELUL, OUR 29 DAY BANQUET OF PRAYER…TO HONOR THE KING OF GLORY!

PSALM 15

15 Lord, who shall abide (guwr, dwell as a new-comer, someone without original rights) in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

LOOKING A LITTLE CLOSER THROUGH THE HEBREW….

1 Lord, who shall abide (guwr, dwell as a new-comer, someone without original rights) in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell (settle down) in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly (tah-meem, blameless) and worketh (paw-al, do or make) righteousness (tseh’-dek, justice, what is right), and speaketh (de-var, speaks) the truth (eh-met) in his heart (bil-va-vo) .

He that backbiteth (raw-gal, walks around by foot) not with his tongue (law-shone), nor doeth evil (rah) to his neighbour (ray-ah, friend, companion), nor taketh up a reproach (cher-pah, disgrace) against his neighbour (kaw-robe, near… from the Hebrew root word kaw-rav, meaning to draw near).

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned (ma’as, to abhor); but he honoureth (yaw-ray, awe, reverence) them that fear (kaw-vad, heavy, weighty, weight of the Glory) the Lord (YHVH) . He that sweareth (shaw-bah, keeps their word, oath) to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward (bribe or present, gifts) against the innocent (naw-kee, clean, free from guilt, blameless). He that doeth these things shall never be moved (mote, be brought down, made to shake or slip).

Who shall abide in they tabernacle? Who shall dwell in they Holy Hill?

He who mirrors the character and nature of YHVH. He who meets the moral and ethical requirements of Holiness to enter the sanctuary. Psalm 15 spells it out in the very beginning of the initial psalm… “Those who do not follow the counsel of the wicked.”

At one point in time, we were all new-comers to GOD, strangers who dwelled outside of the covenant. The word choice is interesting. The prayer reminds us that we each had no original rights or privilege to occupy the dwelling place of GOD.

Today, we each have an open invitation into the sanctuary. But who is qualified to enter?

Those who worship GOD speak truth. Liars do not abide alongside the anointing.

Truth is a big word in Hebrew. The word for truth is emet. Emet is spelled with the 1st letter of GOD’s Name, the aleph (a). The middle letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is the men (m) and the last and final letter is the tav (t). aleph – mem- tav; representing the entirety of the Word of GOD.

GOD (Aleph) – the Core (Mem, the people, the nations) and His Covenant (Tav). Emet is truth, beginning, middle and end. There are no adjustments, no personal points of view or versions of truth.

Truth in Hebrew can not be expressed without including GOD, His People and His Gift to us of His Covenant. The dictionary definition of truth, does not capture truth to its core… GOD, His People, and Our Covenant.

In our culture, we have excluded GOD from our definition of truth. The world believes that GOD is not a consideration in the existence of truth.

By removing GOD from the equation, we have the Hebrew Word moot, (men- tav), meaning death. Cutting GOD out of our lives and language and understanding, etc means we are working with something absent of truth.

They that worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

David is trying to tell us

that among other things, lying will completely destroy our power in prayer. Slander and backbiting will disqualify us from destiny. The worshiper of GOD does not enter the sanctuary full of gossip and walking about maliciously spreading slander.

Psalm 15 is David’s prayer spoken over the generations delivered to us so that we may know that there is a protocol for entering the tent of GOD. The first step is to recognize that the degree to which our character and nature and ability to abide in truth and speak truth, will determine our ability to enter into the presence of GOD in prayer, study and worship.

There must be an important reason for that, don’t you think?

ELUL, OUR 29 DAY BANQUET OF PRAYER… TO HONOR THE KING OF GLORY!

I present all my prayers to you LORD, as the First Fruits of my lips this Harvest Season…May they be accepted by You, as the Finest Fruits of my garden that I have in my heart to Present before My Beloved King! AMEN.

ELUL… Seasoning Our Words With Salt

THE FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH OF ELUL…

Knowing that our words should be seasoned with salt- the whole entire time— Elul, places a special requirement on us to evaluate and recalibrate every word that comes out of our mouths.

With dedication and discipline, applied in this process, we will become masters at apprehending our thoughts before they even slip out of our mouths as words.

Her’s a short torah teaching for you on this eve of Rosh Chodesh Elul, The Head of the Month of Elul

…………………

One man spread a rumor about another.

He later felt regret, and went to the rabbi to ask how to make amends. “Go to the store and buy a bag of seeds,” said the rabbi, “then go to a big open field and scatter the seeds into the wind. Do so and report back to me in a week.”

The man did as he was told, and came back the next week to find out what to do next. “Now,” said the rabbi, “go back to the field and pick up all the seeds.”

“But,” the man protested, “those seeds have scattered far and wide! I’ll never find them all. Many have even already taken root!”

“Exactly,” explained the rabbi. “Now you understand. When we speak badly about another person, the effect is far and wide. And it is damage that can never be fully undone.”

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the hand of the tongue: and they that love it, shall eat the fruit thereof.

The Sages of Old explained it this way….  ”Negative speech is even worse than a sword—since it kills many people, even at a great distance.” (Talmud, Arachin 15b)

Evil Speech (loshon hara) is equivalent to murder. The Talmud teaches that evil speech  (gossip) is like a three pronged tongue which kills three people: the person who says it, the person who listens to it and the person about whom it is said.

We know this to be true because we have seen people carrying the weight of someones words around for decades. We have seen words break another persons spirit, causing such spiritual harm, that some have barely survived.

Remembering hurtful words from their childhood and re-experiencing them on a recurring basis, even nursing the words in their heart. Never letting them go. They nurse and rehearse these words to such a degree that they torment their own souls.

This Elul, we shall walk away from the pain of the past and the witchcraft of words.

Tonight as we pray, we will gather up all the seeds of words we have misplaced and misspoken, every word that hurt, insulted, or harmed in anyway.

We ask the LORD to bind up every wound we have inflicted upon anyone with our words.. intentionally, or unintentionally. Help me LORD, and heal all that I have harmed.

For every heart we have broken we repent, and ask the LORD to replace our words in their hearts and minds with healing words of love, kindness and tender mercies.

I pull down every stronghold I have built up over my life and anyone else through the careless use of my words. I strip away the very sound of any and every hurtful word that I spoke from their ears and from their hearts.

In these 29 days of Elul, I dispatch my prayers to root our every hidden place that my words have done damage. Heal me LORD, of any particle or residue of anger that caused harsh words to fall from my tongue toward my neighbor. I command my flesh to be silent, to speak sparingly, to submit to the wisdom, knowledge and counsel of the Most High GOD through His Word.

I Decree and Declare this very day, that my words shall become seasoned with salt. AMEN.

.

Let your speech be always with grace,  seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Colossians 4:6 KJV

ELUL, THE MONTH OF PROPHETIC DREAMS…

BECAUSE THIS IS A MONTH SO SATURATED BY PRAYER, REPENTANCE AND DRAWING CLOSER TO GOD… THIS MAY BE YOUR DREAMIEST MONTH OF THE YEAR!

Expect MORE Dreams!

Capture those Dreams and Pray them through During this Season!

If your dreams are vivid and a tad bit alarming…write them down as well and ask for deeper revelation. You could have been given a warning dream which is awesome!

Remember what Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Hannah, Hezekiah, Abigail, Deborah, the Zelopehad Daughters, Jochebed, Miriam, Aaron, Esther, and many more… did when they were confronted with situations that they were not so pleased about?

They stepped in and had a conversation with GOD. They didn’t let problems, complications, situations, even edicts from GOD, just stand unchallenged. They negotiated a better outcome for the people!

Should any dream alarm you… Never Fear…it’s time to open up negotiations with GOD!

The dreams we love the most are wrapped in sugar and spice, right? Definitely pray those dreams through!

Attached is a journal page from the workbook. Use it to write down your dreams and take them to prayer (in your hand) with you during your consecrated prayer time.

Make Note of The Time of the Watch in Which Your Dream Occurred

Jot down the date and time of your dreams whenever possible… Write the visions and run with them! (Hab 2:2).

Hebrew Root Word Study: ratz = run, to carry speedily, to escort speedily to a destination

ya’rutz = future imperfect; meaning Your actions (whether you will or will not) determine the outcome. In Hebrew the imperfect tense leaves room for what you are prepared to do with the information or situation, VISION OR DREAM!

This is one of the things I love most about the Word…GOD left room for our choices on the pages of scripture and in the declaration of His Will…

GOD has invited You to take part… the tense is imperfect… because He is waiting for Your decision….The Choice is Yours.

May all our prayers saturate you with prophetic insight, and visions and dreams… May this be the richest Season of Dreams and visions and insight for you EVER! May you see the crooked places made straight… May you see the abundance of rain coming in the distance.. May you walk each day in divine outcomes and decisions because you have stepped into the ALL The Provisions that GOD has made for you in His Word! You Shall Dream.

Enjoy! AMEN.

Elul… May GOD Find You Praying, like David Prayed…

PRAYER JOURNAL PAGES FOR ELUL —THE NEXT LEVEL IN PRAYER

It’s Time to Get Strategic…

For the next month (a.k.a 33 days) you are going to log each prayer request you receive…

You will set your prayer(s) in a watch of the day or night. (See handouts) We will each be making a consecration to stand that specific watch in prayer. In the beginning… you might not stand the entire 3 hour watch, or you might. You choose.

Praying the Psalms will cause your Watch to pass quickly!

All teachings on this page have their roots in The Language of Prayer

Prayer Journal Pages through 2023 available: Click Here

Read the Psalm… Pray the Psalm

Decree and Declare the Psalm out loud.

The enclosed handout contains a breakdown of the Prayer Watches. I believe you will gain more out of this exercise if you don’t focus on all the details of the prayer watch right now. We can fill in that information for you later.

For those of you who have taken this class with me before, you have a head start! For those of you who have not, just pick a watch… that you can honor and maintain through the next 33 days. Your prayer times can certainly shift based on the day of the week, that’s OK.

The important thing is to keep the commitment for prayer that you make…this is your consecration to Heaven. The flexibility is all in your hands and your words.

Write down your commitment in time to whichever prayer watch or watches you will keep. As your prayer request come in, set them / log them for the watch you have set. Jot down the key details so that you remember what you are carrying to prayer.

Can You Keep the Secrets of GOD?

When someone ask you to pray for them, you do not need to tell 10 people. Keep the confidence of the LORD. When GOD sends us someone to pray for, we want to keep their info private and hold on to them as if they are the treasures of GOD Himself. Prayer is a sacred trust and we want to handle them all in a very careful way.

Be as cryptic as you like. Only you need to know what the request is! Keep the request in a safe place (in your bible if you like) just keep them in a place of honor, respect and a secure place where you can reach them.

Prayer takes time. The objective is to watch over your prayers…not to forget the commitments we make in prayer…and hold on till the breakthrough (which could be longer than 33 days).

Because we each will be in agreement over the next 33 days, praying the psalms and the Lord’s Prayer together (in Hebrew), we are believing in the unity of the faith to carry us into this next level.

Get Ready… The power of agreement is incredible…and we shall see the manifestation of our prayers!

Enjoy! Amen.

ELUL, A DAVID KIND OF PRAYER…

Review the messages contained in the Elul series and refuse to pull your self down to a lower spiritual level. I have provided plenty of scriptural evidence to support you during this month of Elul.

Read them, meditate on them, listen to the wisdom of GOD. Obey them, especially those you find particularly difficult. Your breakthrough or the breakthrough you are seeking for others could very well be locked inside.

You will experience spiritual attack during this time, especially if you are endeavoring to cast out some giants in your land. Attacks are just a message that you are on the right track!

Press In!

There’s enough Giants in the Land Already!!! Don’t Create Your Own Giants to Fight. Be Mindful of the Words You Are Speaking.

Flow with these prayer strategies during the month of Elul and watch the power of GOD fall on your faithfulness.

The Month of Elul: August 20th – September 18, 2020. -29 Days of Elul

We learned this as children, and it has devolved for some as a “patty cake” type of prayer. It’s been relegated to the place of a nursery rhyme for far too many Christians.

Over the next few months I hope to demonstrate the revelatory power in this sweet, clear, concise, precious message to every believer on how to pray. It’s more than a simplistic pattern of prayer.

Let us press in for a new level through speaking the prayer in the Hebrew tongue and stand the watch.

Note: Click on the Attachment below in order to enlarge the picture. In Hebrew you read from right to left. Begin with… ah-vee-new she-bah-sha-my-eem

For Heather and Renae! Attached is a recording just for you!

If any of you have trouble printing out a copy of the prayer, send me an email to torahbythesea@gmail.com and we will forward you a copy as soon as possible. Thank You.

Recording #1 The Lord’s Prayer read in Hebrew only – very slowly
Recording #2 The Lord’s Prayer read in both Hebrew & English – very slowly –all verses

Over the next 33 days, remain faithful to Praying the Psalms with us and rehearse the Lord’s Prayer in your own ears, over your own spirit. Don’t be critical over your pronunciation, don’t be discouraged. GOD rewards your diligence in pursuit of Him and His Holy language.

Understanding will come. You never had to be perfect, we only need to be faithful in the little things.

During this Elul, we are taking a huge step towards GOD, through increased consecration and dedication, and GOD is Faithful!

May revelation and insight abound in you over the next 33 days, like never before! Amen.
