21 DAYS- THE ESSENTIALS OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

JUNE 30, 2021

In the prayer and message entitled 21 Days – Prophecy According to the Order of the King, you saw that scripture revealed that the mighty men of David operated from the strength and advantages of their prophetic giftings. But, we also know that the military arm of the Children of Israel were not numbered with the levitical priesthood. It was forbidden to do so.

REMEMBER… The levites were not to be counted in the military census.

NUMBERS 1: 45-50

45 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;

46 Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

48 For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying,

49 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:

50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

This is significant because it opens up our understanding and leads us to major revelation.

1. WHEN GOD SAYS SOMETHING TWICE… PAY CLOSE ATTENTION

It was so important that Moses understand that the levites are not to be numbered with, “all that were ready and able to go forth to war” that GOD places special emphasis on this point by saying it twice. Scripture is not repeating itself to be poetic. GOD wants us to hear something powerful.

So we should be asking ourselves, why is scripture making this point to draw our attention to the fact that the military is operating in the prophetic? Their not levites, why are they prophesying with song and sound?

David’s Military system is not based on military skill and might only. Even those in David’s army had attributes of prophecy operating through them.

2. Let’s go back and look at this from the beginning…. 1 Chron 12: 1, 2, 8, 15-18,

12 Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.

And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountain

15 These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

16 And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.

17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

18 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

21 And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

22 For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

3. KEY Observations:

  • They came to David. David did not recruit them. They separated themselves unto David, right before he became king.
  • Multitudes defected from Sauls Kingdom to join David at Ziklag.
  • They were the elite fighting force of the nation of Israel.
  • Even the brethren of Saul. Men of Sauls own family are joining David because they see what GOD is doing.
  • Notice that Amasai, Chief of the Captains was a prophet. (Amasai’s name is based in the Hebrew root word amac, which means to carry a load, burden. He is a burden bearer of the tabernacle).
  • The language shifts from calling the mighty men that came to David, captains of the band (gedud ) to princes (sarim).
  • The mighty men of David became like the host of GOD. A reflection of the hosts of Heaven on earth.

The identity and characteristic of David’s military is more angelic like… they war like the Host of Heaven. The elevation of their spiritual identity is identified by their name change. No longer a band, the are likened to the hosts of GOD. They now personify qualities GREATER THAN military might.

They perceived that they were engaging in something more powerful and of greater importance than physical warfare. They were engaging in spiritual warfare while they fought the enemies of GOD.

As you see in scripture, it was forbidden to mix the men of war with the Levites. Yet, you witness another dynamic happening here. David did not see them as men of war. David perceived them as the host of GOD. David’s army had the attributes of prophecy operating within it. As skilled and formidable as the mighty men of David were in physical warfare, they were as highly skilled in the arts of spiritual warfare.

1 Chronicles 12: 32

32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

33 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.

The weapons of their warfare were no longer carnal as they had been under Sauls leadership. They became mighty to the pulling down of both physical and spiritual strongholds. Understanding the times (Issachar), Not double minded, expert in all spiritual and physical instruments of war (Zebulun). We know this because scripture also teaches us that they were men of prayer, praise and worship. Men of understanding, insight discernment. These were their primary weapons, their most essential weapons of war.
Amen.

DIRECTIONS TO THE KINGDOM

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21

As some of you have seen in my classes, I place a little time and attention on showing my students patterns, sequences and connections in scripture. I call it connecting the dots. Scripture is packed with patterns, sequences which are very beneficial to us spiritually. Once we learn to focus in on the message identifying these patterns, the ultimate good that we will impart upon our own selves is the ability to detect the spiritual patterns in our lives, our dreams and our visions, etc.

Hearing, polished and refined through the Word elevates your spiritual gifting and potential.

Developing Your Spiritual Compass

“And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.”. 2 Samuel 5:24

Find your own way into this gifting. Move toward it. By that I am saying, pay attention to how you hear. You have to learn this about yourself. From the words and sounds that you hear, to the words and sounds that you dismiss, what patterns do you see? Focus on the sounds that that you hear which trigger insight, revelation, understanding…

Ex. In a crowded noisy space, what sounds do you focus in on? What do you hear differently? What do you hear repetitiously?… What words keep reoccurring? Which words or sounds grieve your spirit? What elevates you?

GOD bestows the gift. But once conferred, we have to receive it, own it, utilize and exercise it.

Does GOD speak to you through touch, sight or sound?

Find out. Pray, Pay Close Attention, Journal and Connect the Dots.

Two of my favorite scriptures that can help you focus on hearing the directions that lead you not just to the door of the kingdom, but to total access…. beyond the gates.

Hearing might not be your gifting, at this time. But if you don’t know, this is one form of methodology at your disposal to find out.

Connect the Dots that lead to who you are in the spirit.

HEAR THE ABUNDANCE OF RAIN…

Elijah was able to hear the abundance of rain- before the rain came– because his spiritual hearing was attuned to what GOD was doing in the earth. Elijah was listening for GOD. He had the witness of the Spirit of GOD, because he kept his spirit saturated in the Word, perfecting his hearing. Elijah was able to distinguish his inner voice from the voice of GOD, and disciplined himself to know the difference and follow the leading of the spirit.

No Friction in the Flow…

We have to purpose in our heart and discipline ourselves to sort out all the other voices in our lives, and learn to hear the voice of GOD above all others, even our own. This is the powerful combination that we seek. Study of the Word is our mechanism with which we can filter out the noise, and stay connected to the Spirit of GOD, which allows us to spiritually flow in sync, refining discernment, insight, hearing and perception.

Gehazi couldn’t flow with the vision & revelation. But, we are not like Gehazi.

We are coming forward spiritually ready, to do the Greater Works!

JOURNALING PAGES:

POST YOUR CONFESSION OF FAITH

Ephesians 4:11-15

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…”

THAT’S NOT WHAT THAT SAYS…

This message is for my students who say that they want a higher level. Those who say, that they are ready for strong meat.

If that’s true, then you have to be ready to unlearn quite a few things that you already thought you knew. One tool and method that will be invaluable to you is to master the use of an Interlinear and see what the verse actually says. Case in Point:

REMINDER: This is just ‘pshat level. Literal interpretation only. Nothing deep or investigatory. Yet, on a basic level, we should have known this as 3 year old in Summer Bible Camp. This is a huge. This verse alone, should shift many paradigms.

Begin with Biblehub.com; Mark 11:22 The translation begins with “theou” and reads “from GOD”. Look past that for a moment and note the abbreviation for the parts of speech. ‘N-GMS’ is telling us that ‘theou’ is a Noun in the Genitive Masculine Singular, which means it is a masc, sg, possessive Noun and here it is rendered as “from GOD.”

Having faith from GOD and having the faith of GOD are two different matters. Both are a few levels above, “…having faith in GOD (KJV).” Having faith from GOD is a gift ( which I don’t think we would argue that it isn’t). Having the faith of GOD would place us at a great advantage. If we had known the expectation was to operate at such a level, understood scripture that way from the beginning and applied it to our lives daily, we would be advanced indeed.

Having the Faith of GOD… is a Completely Different Conversation

But let’s look beneath the surface a bit more and find out just what the Genitive case tell us: Genitive shows possession (although some scholars separate out possession from genitive, and define it as two separate forms. I do not. While the genitive case is not ‘always’ about possession, it is about ‘belonging to.’

That being the case, we can understand Mark 11:22 as Jesus compelling us to have the type of faith that GOD has, or to have the same level of faith as GOD. To operate in His level of Faith, just as we have learned to operate in His strength and not our own, in His ways, in His Will and not our own. We learn from Jesus to operate in GOD’s Faith and not our own.

Having faith in GOD, is sweet, but it’s operating with milk. Having the faith of GOD… that requires grit… i.e. strong meat. Ref: Hebrews 5:11-14

Jesus is offering strong meat.

2 Bibles that render this passage, “… Have the faith of GOD” are Douay Rhimes Bible (1582) and Young’s Literal Bible (1862).

Compare: Galatians 2:16 “But knowing that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ; we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by the faith of Christ...” (both Douay Rhimes Bible and KJV). We are justified by the Faith “of” Christ, as in like manner we are to have the Faith “of” GOD.

Consider a point beyond the letter and the linguistics for a moment. Beyond all the covenants, conditions and restrictions of language, there are a few spiritual… more weightier matters to convey.

In this teaching, the limits have been lifted.

You can reach for the attribute of operating in the faith of GOD, or having faith in GOD. It’s a choice. Either is possible, yet both are not comfortable. One requires you to stretch and the other requires no action whatsoever. The existing ‘believer’ can stay well within their current comfort zone, stay completely as they are. If you hear the call to have the faith of GOD, something more is required of you.

Christ is entering Jerusalem and into the temple. The next day He moves on to Bethany and is now hungry. He sees a fig tree with leaves and no fruit. Fig trees produce fruit before the leaves open. So this particular fig tree is signaling abundance where none actually exist. The fig tree is operating against its own purpose in creation, against its own nature. It’s living in defiance to its own creation and purpose. Jesus says to the tree, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter, forever”. In other words, “You don’t get to do your own thing, and cast off the Word of GOD in shear disobedience”.

The fig tree shrivels up and dies and the next day Peter notices the overnight change due to the LORDs Words, and ask how this is possible. The Messiah responds, “Have the faith of GOD.”

We could stop at the boundary of having faith in God, or we can proceed to the level of having the faith of GOD. Not just believing in the authority of GOD, but speaking in the authority of GOD.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God…” Amen.

In the overall context of Mark 11, Jesus empowered the disciples to operate in Kingdom Authority.

ya’ah’neh… means, “He Will Answer!”

יַעֲנֶה ya’ah’neh

Pronounced: yah’ah’nay

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 15:13

May you bask in all the joy and blessings of overflow!

SIDEBAR:

A few places in Scripture where GOD stated His Name and Identity as the aleph tav. There are plainly stated clues in the English translations that we are familiar with, but without seeing the messages from the Hebrew or recognizing the Hebraisms or idioms, they can be completely overlooked, therefore remaining hidden. Some of you have had the benefit of examining Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 word for word in previous classes, some have not. Until you each have covered the verses below in class, please make note of them now.

Gen 1:1. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep…”

John 1:1. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. …”

Exodus 3:15. “And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.”

Once we place Jesus back into His Jewish language, heritage and culture, we can see that He would not have referred to Himself as the alpha and omega, this is a Greek expression referring to, “the beginning and the end, the first and the last” regarding the Greek Alphabet, stated from a Greek perspective. Jesus, being Jewish would have actually called Himself the aleph and the tav. Referring to the 1st and last letter of the Hebrew alephbet, not the 1st and last letter of the Greek.

Case in Point: No matter what country you hail from or what your native language is, you still know your own name and communicate it as such, in your own language. Granted the 21st century could be an exception to that commonality, but we are reading 1st century material and have to understand it from a 1st century context. Translations changed the meaning and understanding of the message over time.

*2021 years later, In all the places where our scriptures replace aleph tav with alpha and omega, we should be willing by now to put it back, at least mentally and spiritually. This is just another small step we have to take in order to place Jesus back into His Jewish context.

Rev 22:13. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Rev 1:11. “Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.”

Rev 21:6. “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”

Rev 22:13. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Let’s continue…

*Figuratively speaking.

RESOURCES: All Interlinear Bibles indicate the location of the aleph tav throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. It has also come to my attention that a “healthy excerpt “ from The Messianic Aleph Tav Interlinear Scriptures (MATIS) has been placed on line by it’s author, William H. Sanford. If you would like to learn more about the aleph tav after reading this brief teaching, please access the link to this resource. I received this book as a gift in 2014 and it is the only Interlinear I know of to date, that focuses attention on highlighting and expounding upon the meaning of the aleph tav in scripture to such an extensive degree.
