IS THE TRINITY TRUE?  (PRESS PAUSE)

PAUSE BREAK #1 – TEACH ME THE WAY OF THE TRINITY…

In the first half of this series we kept our focus on the pattern of appearances of the Holy Spirit in the scriptures.

Before we begin to introduce the pattern of appearances of the Son of Man on the pages of scripture, I want to take some time to set the stage and show you WHY GOD would even go to such a great extent for mankind…

Exodus 3:14 KJV – Keys to the Trinity

And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, “I Am” hath sent me unto you.

eh-Yay ah-share eh-Yay

“I Am that I Am”

eh-Yay” has sent me unto you!

“I Am has sent me unto you”

Let’s go back a few verses… in Exodus 3

For now focus on WHO is speaking

And the Angel of the Lord appeared (malak YHVH) unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

And when the Lord (YHVH) saw that he turned aside to see, God (YHVH) called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

And He (YHVH) said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

Moreover He (YHVH) said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God (ELOHIM).

In Exodus 3:2-6, GOD is making quite a few BIG Statements right here… follow the conversation for now. Take time to digest what He is saying – From the English standpoint only. We will look at this passage a few times more, (from the Hebrew), later on. For now, just keep this conversation between YHVH and Moses in the forefront of your thoughts.

As we continue building upon our knowledge, line by line and precept upon precept, when we revisit this passage again (perhaps in 2-3 more exercises) I will ask you to expound on what you have learned (parts 01-14?) by completing the previous exercises and applying what you have learned to your understanding of this passage of scripture.

In the meantime, I want to bring back to your remembrance, a number of the times we called out to GOD– throughout the ages —asking Him to reveal Himself, appear before us, help us, show Himself and teach us His Ways….

Many of us still ask the question… “Why on earth would GOD lower Himself to come down into the earth as a flesh and blood man for us?”

It is truly an incredible thing, I know… very hard for the mind to grasp even though we say we believe that nothing is impossible for GOD, and maintain that He is all powerful and this entire world is His Creation in which He has all authority and power. Yet, we still can’t all believe that He would do such a thing; such as send His Spirit or His Word to dwell or abide in, on or with us.

Consider this…

HOW MANY PLEAS HAVE BEEN MADE TO GOD ACROSS TIME, ASKING HIM TO TEACH US HIS WAYS or ABIDE WITH US?

Let’s start with Moses and apply what we have already learned about the very first Name scripture gives us of GOD, Elohim.

Elohim appears 2, 598 times in scripture (Strong’s H430).

Remember: Elohim is the plural form of eh-loh-ah; meaning more than 1, numerically. When we say GOD in English – in our grammar, we hear it in a singular sense only. So automatically, to Western ears, our minds are only hearing One, numerically and literally. From a Hebraic perspective, we ought to be hearing this word from a pluralistic sense. The problem is, to our ears, saying ‘GOD’s’ is like grating our nails on a blackboard. It’s just uncomfortable.

For example, in Judges 6:36 if it wasn’t so antithetical to the way that we express ourselves in the English language, we would read this, “And Gideon said unto GOD’s…” We just don’t speak this way in the English language.

Our first impulse is to fix it. We would want to say instead, “And Gideon said unto the GOD’s…” The new problem is that the definite article ‘the’ is not in the passage. So, we can’t or shouldn’t just insert it to make the verse make sense to us in English.

So what do we do now?

I am asking you to listen to the passages containing GOD’s Name, Elohim – from a numerical perspective. All we know at this point is that it means- more than One GOD.

As troublesome as that is for us, that’s how He (GOD) chose to identify Himself. No one has to accept the triune nature of GOD at this point. I’m not asking you to. We’re building a case. All the evidence for the triune nature of GOD, is not even before you yet.

Just consider that all you know at this point is, eh-loh-ah – means GOD. Elohim means more than One GOD. We’re just going to sit with that for a while.

Resist the temptation to jump ahead from an English language mindset and draw final conclusions. (1) You have to keep in the forefront of your mind, were learning a few Hebrew words. Hebrew is not English, and we must accept the language on its own terms.

Elohim denotes the plural form of the noun eh-loh-ah, and not it’s singular form. At this early stage, all I ask is that you just believe that GOD knows how to refer to Himself.

…and He referred to Himself as Elohim over 2,000 times, which means we need to hear Him speak of Himself pluralistically, 2,000 times.

There is some type of plurality existing in GOD’s Name and Identity.

Truth takes time.

Moses

Exodus 33:13

“Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee…”

Moses asked God to reveal His way so that he could know Him, and walk correctly before Him. GOD responded in part. But we all know that Moses wanted more, right? Don’t we all continue to ask for more?

Moses is Speaking to the Triune Nature of GOD..

Again, for now always pay attention to WHO is speaking and Who they are speaking to… more to follow on this.

11 And the Lord (YHVH) spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

12 And Moses said unto the Lord (YHVH), See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

14 And He (YHVH) said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

Hear what GOD is telling us. He is able to send His Presence to Moses, separate and apart from Himself. Think about this.

Hold this thought in your mind for a moment as you review all of these petitions and request….

Also Consider this… When you want someone to show you how to do something – especially if you are “missing the mark” or find the task or assignment difficult to do on a daily basis, how would you want them to show you? When text messages, emails, articles, journals, manuals, videos, and Zoom calls are not helping you to understand. What do you ask for next? What is it you really want them to do?

Gideon called on the Triune Nature of GOD

Judges 6:36–40 KJV

Gideon asked God for signs with the fleece.

36 And Gideon said unto God (Elohim), If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,

37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

39 And Gideon said unto God (Elohim), Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

40 And God (Elohim) did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

Gideon sought a clear revelation that God was truly with him and would intervene on his behalf.

Don’t we all want GOD to show up & answer our call the same night?

Elijah called on the Triune Nature of GOD

1 Kings 18:36–37 KJV

“Hear me, O LORD (YHVH), hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God.”

Elijah asked God to reveal Himself publicly before Israel.

Isaiah called on the Triune Nature of GOD

Isaiah 40:26 KJV

Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth.

David

Psalm 17:6-7 KJV

“Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness…”

David asked God to visibly demonstrate His saving power.

Psalm 25:4–5 KJV

“Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me…”

Psalm 27:11 KJV

“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path…”

Psalm 80:3 KJV

“Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.”

Psalm 86:11 KJV

“Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.”

Psalm 94:1–2 KJV

“O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.”

One of Scripture’s clearest requests for God to reveal Himself.

Psalm 119:132 KJV

“Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me.”

Psalm 119:33–35 KJV

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes… Give me understanding… Lead me in the path of thy commandments…”

Psalm 119:12 KJV

“Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.”

Psalm 119:26 KJV

“Teach me thy statutes.”

Psalm 119:64 KJV

“Teach me thy statutes.”

Psalm 119:66 KJV

“Teach me good judgment and knowledge.”

Psalm 119:68 KJV

“Teach me thy statutes.”

Psalm 119:73 KJV

“Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.”

Psalm 119:108

“Teach me thy judgments.”

Psalm 119:124–125 KJV

“Teach me thy statutes. I am thy servant; give me understanding…”

Psalm 143:8 KJV

“Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk…”

Psalm 143:10 KJV

“Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God…”

Do you think David might have desired any one on one, personal time in instruction?

Solomon

1 Kings 3:7–9 KJV

Solomon asked God for “an understanding heart” to judge and govern according to God’s will.

Rather than asking for riches or power, Solomon asked for wisdom to walk rightly before God.

The Sons of Korah

Psalm 44:18 KJV

Their prayer implies a desire not to turn aside from God’s path:
“Neither have our steps declined from thy way.”

The Sons of Korah were incredibly disciplined, right? Even so, they prayed for resilience and fortitude to remain steadfast in difficulty.

Examine the rest of their petition…

22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.

Cries for redemption. Cries for GOD to reveal His Face, His Presence.

Jeremiah

Jeremiah 10:23 KJV

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”

Jeremiah acknowledged humanity’s need for God’s divine direction, and intervention. We are constantly beseeching Him for divine instruction, and demonstration, “Show us the way!”

Intervene on Our Behalf LORD…

24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Ezra

Ezra 8:21 KJV

Ezra proclaimed a fast:
“To seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones… and for all our substance”

He sought God’s guidance before leading Israel on a dangerous journey.

Ezra Continues…

22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

Intervene LORD.

Job 13:3 KJV

“Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.”

Job 23:3 KJV

“Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!”

Job longed for God’s direct revelation and intervention.

Nevertheless, as you decide that for yourself, notice that the petitions are still present and persistent.

The Psalmist’s Continual Prayer

Psalm 119:18 KJV

“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law (Torah).”

Psalm 119:27 KJV

“Make me to understand the way of thy precepts.”

Psalm 119:133 KJV

“Order my steps in thy word.”

Powerful “Reveal Yourself” Prayers

  • Exodus 33:18 — “Show me Your glory.”
  • Psalm 80:3 — “Cause Your face to shine.”
  • Psalm 94:1 — “Show Yourself.”
  • Job 23:3 — “Oh that I knew where I might find Him.”
  • Habakkuk 3:2 — “Revive Your work.”
  • Daniel 9:19 — “Hear… forgive… hearken and do.”
  • 1 Kings 18:37 — “Let this people know that You are God.”
  • Acts 4:29–31 — “Stretch forth Your hand.”
  • James 4:8- “Come near to GOD and He will come near to you.”

Isaiah 64:1 KJV

“Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down.”

This may be the most dramatic prayer in Scripture asking God to intervene, reveal Himself, and enter a situation with His unmistakable power and presence.

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

These are just the please made for GOD to reveal Himself in the Hebrew Scriptures.

GOD’s WORD is our refuge, our strong tower and ultimate defense. When He answers in the form of sending His Word down in the flesh to fight for us, show us how to fight for ourselves, stands in and becomes the sacrifice and ransom for the salvation of our souls,

Some reject the trinity saying that, “He would never lower Himself to the level of a man and die for us. GOD is too great for that.”

As if He ever taught us to put our dignity before the life of another. The truth is He actually teaches us to make ourselves of no reputation… Phil 2:7.

Others reject the trinity saying, “The WORD made flesh is an impossibility, it is beneath GOD to make Himself as lowly as a man, and that He would never subordinate His divinity to mankind.”

To hold to that position you would have to reject not only what He tells us in Philippians 2, you would also have to reject His Word in…

John 3:16 King James Version

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We then would actually be telling GOD that there is no possible way He could love mankind this much, right?

And if that be the case then, because we are locked inside the land of limitations and restrictions and our minds cannot conceive of such a thing, that we imagine that He would not do this at all, then wouldn’t we also be saying at the same time that, “GOD is a man that He should lie?

rather than believing that “GOD is NOT a man that He should lie…?Numbers 23:19

If that’s the case then, it must also be our testimony that, “Our thoughts are above His thoughts”, right? as opposed to Isaiah 55:8-9. Once again, calling GOD a liar.

Or, if GOD is unable to take His Word and make it flesh, and abide with us in the form of man in order to both teach us His Ways, personally and relationally, –answering prayers through the ages– then we’re also saying at the same time that, He is not omnipotent.

In that case GOD is not omnipotent, unless I agree with how He operates in the earth.

Would I then be saying that GOD can not send His Word, make it flesh AND submit His Divine nature to His now fleshly nature in order to save me from my sin? His Word can not be made flesh, so that HE can walk out His Commandments, show me how to walk His Word out and follow His Commandments, and for extra insurance, cover all my mistakes as I do my utmost to obey Him, with a broken and a contrite heart?

Psalm 51:17, as David declared, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”

Would that make His Word in Psalms 51:17 invalid also?

If it is my opinion, that GOD can not take His Word and make it flesh, showing me how walking in His Anointing of His Word will cover me, protect me, cause the enemy to have to bow before me, because of WHO abides within me, etc., then my opinion is more powerful than His Word? My opinion nullifies my salvation?

The GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would not go to the outermost limits to do everything in HIS POWER to make sure that we have every opportunity to be victorious in life and overcome the adversary?

That would mean that Genesis 3:15 is not true either.

Can GOD or would GOD, suppress/limit qualities of His Divine Nature in order to conquer our adversaries as a man-obedient to the Word, being that man had not obtained enough self discipline, wisdom, knowledge or understanding to walk in His Word by the 1st Century, in order to do it ourselves?

If not, then Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 2:17 must not be true either, right?

Matthew 19:26 ESV

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Luke 1:37 ESV

For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Job 42:2 ESV

“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Jeremiah 1:12 ESV

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

Jeremiah 32:17 ESV

‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

Jeremiah 32:27 ESV

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?

Luke 18:27 ESV

But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

Hebrews 6:18 ESV

So that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

Psalm 46:10 ESV

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Ephesians 3:20 ESV

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

Another 20 scriptures that beg the question, how much of GOD’s Word Might, Power, Ability, is one willing to overlook in order to be right

Matthew 17:20 ESV

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Isaiah 40:28 ESV

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

IN YOUR MINISTRY… You will engage at times, with many people that do not see the triune nature of GOD as they study scripture. It’s not deliberate. It’s just temporarily blocked from their view. To help them, you will have to challenge their biases and/or their dichotomies of thought… their all or nothing type of thinking.

in this mode, GOD can be one thing, but He can not be both. I all it kicking against the pricks! Something the Apostle Paul even suffered from at one time. He too thought that GOD could not do more than He thought at the time, or could imagine. He thought GOD could not move in a new direction, do a new thing, particularly...flip the script!

He was an absolute Torah Scholar, taught by Rabbi Gamaliel himself- Best of the Best. There’s no way, Jesus could be GOD!

As a student, Paul had learned all the mechanics of the Word from Gamaliel. He was able to quote scripture, expound and elaborate on difficult passages of the scriptures, just like “a son of a carpenter.” He perceived the letter of the law perfectly, but not the spirit. Anyone who challenged his neat little box of paradigms, he vehemently challenged.

Paul had all of the mechanics of scripture catalogued, but he had forgot that this is a spiritual work first! Paul was so blind to the spiritual, that he physically wanted to force compliance with his thoughts, his will, his way and the will of all those that could only see what he saw.

GOD chose to personally remind him of who was really calling the shots! His days of holding the coats of the accusers, was over. His “Choose this Day” moment had arrived. He had to decide to follow GOD, regardless of whether or not he understood every move GOD was making, or not.

He was either going to be led by The Spirit, or led by his own spirit and understanding into a place in eternity, that he could not recover from.

He had to make his choice.

Throughout all time, up to and including today, mankind has asked GOD to reveal Himself and to teach us His Ways. Through His Spirit and His Son He has done just that. Yet, we can not see it?

If we can’t believe in GOD’s Power over and above all of creation, how can we believe that He has any power to work in and through us?

Using the RSVP Box below, please submit your answers regarding these questions and let me know your thoughts. More importantly, are you ready for the Revelation of the Triune Nature of the Son of Man?

IS THE TRINITY TRUE?  (Part 0.10)

PART 10WHO IS THE SON OF MAN?

Through this series so far, you have reviewed over 30 passages of scripture presenting the role and function of the Holy Spirit, how GOD speaks of Him and His personhood and importance in the Work of GOD.

If you have been participating in the assignments then you have obtained my feedback and additional insight and assistance.

Before we get started today… I want everyone to remember that my objective is to present scriptural evidence for you to look into to in regards to understanding the Trinity, not to tell you what to think.

The scripture proves and defends itself. Nothing is better than taking that journey through the Word of GOD for yourself, but we also need a guide every now and then. The guide helps you focus and zero-in on asects of the Word that can be easily missed.

With that in mind, I am continuing in that direction. In part 0.10, I will present you a few passages of scripture in the New Testament and ask you a few questions about the passages designed to focus the lens of perception. Let’s see how I do.

The Book of Mark – and the Trinity

Were going to spend some time in the Book of Mark, becasue it’s a fairly short book and it is packed with a great deal of key content that is spiritually informative and edifying..

To make this easy and convenient for you, I have copies portions out of Mark 2 for your reference and highlighted the passages I want you to focus on for this lesson.

Read the passages below and answer the following questions:

Mark 2:1-12

And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

When Jesus saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

RECAP: GENESIS CHAPTER ONE

Genesis 1:1-31 King James Version

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

That was simple right? Be certain that you took every step. This will ensure that as we build there will be no gaps in understanding!

IS THE TRINITY TRUE?  (Part 0.3)

OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IN THIS SESSION WILL BE ON VERSE 1 and 2

For a better look at the Interlinear PASSAGE FOR GENESIS 1:2 Click Here

roo-ahk

*ruach is in the common singular construct. Do not think of as you have to choose one meaning over the other- that’s the Western mindset. Now you must put on your Hebrew Mindset and not override what the Hebrew is teaching us. Ruach consists of all three meanings at the same time; it means spirit, wind and breath -all in one thought!

el-low-heem

*elohim is in the masculine plural form. Elohim is not only used for GOD, but on occasion it is used in scripture in reference to human rulers, angels, or judges.

The primary emphasis is on power and might.  GOD is the Most High Elohim. Not all Elohim are equal.  Scripture also applies the title to “little gods” as elohim (lower case E). Just as we recognize GOD spelled with a capital G, (as a Proper Noun), there are also little ‘gods’ that we express and recognize with a lower case ‘g.’ As you can see, Elohim is a BIG WORD.  More on this later.

Both words are proper nouns. Proper Nouns identify a person, place or thing. Genesis 1:2 does not identify the Spirit as a proper noun in the masculine tense in this verse. Yet, we have it on good authority that GOD, Elohim is masculine and describes Himself grammatically with proper nouns. (Genesis 1:1 and 2 both introduce Elohim on the pages of scripture in the masculine plural form.

* Since scripture is clearly indicating that the “Spirit” belongs to GOD, (masculine plural) –making no assumptions and doubting nothing, we can safely say that, the Spirit of GOD is being spoken of grammatically as a proper noun and not a place or a thing… and not an entity.

Important Note: There is no place in the biblical canon where Elohim is not expressed in the masculine plural form, in reference to GOD.

Elohim is plural. The ending ‘im‘ (pronounced ‘EEM’) places the word “GOD” in the plural form, meaning more than one.

All I want you to consider right now is that, GOD knows plural from singular. He knows how to express His Name in singular or in plural. He expresses His Name in the plural form. He could have given His name and identity as eh-loh-ah – but He did not, deliberately. This is His language and at the opening of His Story, His very first message to mankind, He presents to us His Identity in pluralistic form.

GOD’s Oneness is much bigger and more consequential than the literal sense alone can convey.

Sit with this for awhile.

When GOD gives You His Name, the Oneness of Elohim could only be expressed in the pluralistic form.

He is One and More Than One at the same time!

Excerpt from another teaching…

ARE YOU SEEING IT?

THE LORD LOVES A GOOD DISCUSSION! Proverbs 2 (ALL)

We Are Building a Case:

So far we have established the following...

By examining only two passages of scripture (Genesis 1:1-2) and following the pattern in scripture; In this lesson, we discovered 17 additional appearances of Spirit of GOD, through use of the Interlinear.

  • Spirit of God (ruach Elohim) — e.g., Genesis 1:2, Job 33:4

Beyond the references to the Spirit of GOD (aka ruach elohim, ruach YHVH, ruach kodsho), one of the primary purposes of this lesson is to provide insight into the number of times the Spirit of GOD is mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures and what He does for us, for mankind.

In general, the Spirit of GOD is referred to a minimum of 94 times on the pages of scripture. The more we pay attention to His functions, roles and responsibilities in the Kingdom of Heaven, the more we will begin to see the Triune nature of how GOD and His Holy Spirit operate. We will be able to see their unity from which they both minister to us.

By doing this, you will also begin to see how easily we read past every mention of the Holy Spirit and read in to the verse our own preconceived notions, ignoring Him and inserting "GOD" instead, like we're just reading another name for GOD. This is a very fine line to address. So let's go back and read Genesis 1:1-2 again, which illustrates this point from the beginning.

  • 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
  • And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

If we read this and tell ourselves that GOD just changed His name in the middle of 2 verses, then we are just doing ourselves an injustice. And as you may come to see later in this course, we can inhibit our own ability to operate in the spiritual realm because we don't even understand the person and power of the Holy Spirit.

How can we operate in His Power and receive it in it's fullness when we do not even understand who He is? If we do not understand the value of what GOD is giving to us, we either just dismiss it as irrelevant or sit it on a shelf and say "Glory to Halleluyah" and walk around powerless, without wisdom, knowledge, understanding, power, and cutting off the counsel of GOD.

You can't have a relationship with someone who treats you like you do not exist. GOD wants a full relationship.

I am going to continue to add scriptural proofs as we go. More than likely we will cover over all 94 appearances of the Holy Spirit in the Hebrew Scriptures, or come very close to it. At that point, you will have to decide if you are reading your own biases and presuppositions into the text (eisegesis) or allowing the scripture to tell you who the Holy Spirit is (exegesis).

So the question becomes, if GOD tells you 94 times who His Spirit is and what He is sent to do for you, will you listen? Will you hear Him?

If GOD demonstrates MULTIPLE-MULTIPLE-MULTIPLE times His Triune nature on the pages of scripture, without using the word 'trinity' (which wasn't even in existence at the time scripture was written- It's an English word and concept, not Hebrew or Hebraic), because He shows you who He is, without labels. Will you believe Him?

This is why the scriptures will do all the talking - which means you have to read a lot! Amen.

Something to consider as we continue through this course.

Additional Scriptural Proofs of His Character and Nature:

  • Spirit of the Lord (ruach YHWH) — e.g., Isaiah 42:1, Joel 2:28
  • Holy Spirit (ruach haqodesh) - e.g., Ps 51:11, Isa 63:10-11
  • YHVH ELOHIM is a person AND He has a Spirit - which operates separate and apart from Him, fulfilling the Purposes and Plans of GOD.
  • We have cited 17 (minimum) passages of scripture so far that identify the Spirit of GOD as a person, executing assignments as given by GOD. (Ref Part 0.02)

ELOHIM is always expressed in the Masculine Plural form. This statement can be verified by using the interlinear for all 16 passages of scripture cited in Part 0.2 and 2, 570+ verses of scripture in which Elohim appears.

  • Elohim is always in the masculine plural form - This statement can be verified by using the interlinear for all 16 passages of scripture cited in Part 0.2 and 2, 570+ verses of scripture in which Elohim appears.

GOD and HIS Spirit BOTH Speak. (And GOD Said...)

  • The LORD GOD, YHVH ELOHIM and the Spirit of GOD both speak. (in only 18 passages of scripture so far, we have demonstrated this definitively in Ex 31:1, 2 Chronicles 24:20) - As the pinnacle of GOD's creation, only mankind - created in His image and likeness -speaks.

The Spirit of GOD Gives LIFE! (just like GOD)

  • Job 27:3
  • Job 33:4

The Spirit of GOD is the Spirit of Prophecy

  • 1 Sam 10:10, 10:20, 18:10, 19:20, 19:23, Isa 61:1,

The Spirit of GOD Dwells Upon a Person Because of the Anointing given to them by GOD.

  • 1 Samuel 61:1

The Spirit of GOD restrains darkness, comforts, instructs, prevents enemy attacks, provides, quides, deposits insight and wisdom, gave them the pattern for the Tabernacle, i.e., gives us the patterns we need, commissions us for leadership

  • Gen 1:2, Ex 31:3, Num 24:2, 1 Sam 1:1, 10:7, 10, 19;20, 1 Chron 28:12, Isa 61:11, Dan 5:11, 14, Num 11:16-17, Judges 3:10, 6:34

The Spirit of the LORD gives us rest. (Thank You Jesus)

  • Isaiah 63:11-14

I am currently working on Part .04 - The First Stepping Stone. In the meantime, I await your response to Step 1 - Part 0.3.

GOD BLESS,
