PAUSE BREAK #1 BEFORE WE DISCUSS THE SON OF MAN…
In the first half of this series we kept our focus on the pattern of appearances of the Holy Spirit in the scriptures.
Before we begin to introduce the pattern of appearances of the Son of Man on the pages of scripture, I want to take some time to set the stage and show you WHY GOD would even go to such a great extent for mankind…
I want to bring back to your remembrance a number of the times, we called out to HIM throughout the ages asking Him to reveal Himself, appear before us, help us, show Himself and teach us His Ways….
Many of us still ask the question… “Why on earth would GOD lower Himself to come down into the earth as a flesh and blood man for us?”
It is truly an incredible thing, I know… very hard for the mind to grasp even though we say we believe that nothing is impossible for GOD, and maintain that He is all powerful and this entire world is His Creation in which He has all authority and power. Yet, we still can’t all believe that He would do such a thing. Consider this…
GOD WAS ONLY DOING WHAT WE ASKED HIM TO DO.
HOW MANY PLEAS HAVE BEEN MADE TO GOD ACROSS TIME, ASKING HIM TO TEACH US HIS WAYS?
Moses
Exodus 33:13
“Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee…”
Moses asked God to reveal His way so that he could know Him, and walk correctly before Him. GOD responded in part. But we all know that Moses wanted more, right? Don’t we all continue to ask for more?
Hold this thought in your mind for a moment as you review these request….
When you want someone to show you how to do something – especially if you are “missing the mark” or find the task or assignment difficult to do on a daily basis, how would you want them to show you?

Judges 6:36–40
Gideon asked God for signs with the fleece.
He sought a clear revelation that God was truly with him and would intervene.
Elijah Asked GOD to Reveal Himself Publicly

“Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God.”
Elijah asked God to reveal Himself publicly before Israel.

David asked God to visibly demonstrate His saving power.

Solomon, David’s SON makes the same request as the reins of Kingship are passed to him.

1 Kings 3:7–9
Solomon asked God for “an understanding heart” to judge and govern according to God’s will.
Rather than asking for riches or power, Solomon asked for wisdom to walk rightly before God.
The Sons of Korah ask the same exact thing…

Psalm 44:18
Their prayer implies a desire not to turn aside from God’s path:
“Neither have our steps declined from thy way.”
The Sons of Korah were incredibly disciplined, right? Even so, they prayed for resilience and fortitude to remain steadfast in difficulty.

Cries for redemption. Cries for GOD to reveal His Face, His Presence.

Jeremiah 10:23
“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”
Jeremiah acknowledged humanity’s need for God’s divine direction, and intervention. We are constantly beseeching Him for divine instruction, and demonstration, “Show us the way!”
Intervene on Our Behalf LORD…
24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Ezra 8:21
Ezra proclaimed a fast:
“To seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones… and for all our substance”
He sought God’s guidance before leading Israel on a dangerous journey.

“Oh that I knew where I might find him!”
Job longed for God’s direct revelation and intervention.
100% Consensus does not exist on whether or not David wrote Psalm 119…
Nevertheless, as you decide that for yourself, notice that the petitions are still present and persistent.

GOD’s WORD is our refuge, our strong tower and ultimate defense. When He answers in the form of sending His Word down in the flesh to fight for us, show us how to fight for ourselves, stands in and becomes the sacrifice and ransom for the salvation of our souls,
Some reject the trinity saying that, “He would never lower Himself to the level of a man and die for us. GOD is too great for that.”
As if He ever taught us to put our dignity before the life of another. The truth is He actually teaches us to make ourselves of no reputation… Phil 2:7.
Others reject the trinity saying, “The WORD made flesh is an impossibility, it is beneath GOD to make Himself as lowly as a man, and that He would never subordinate His divinity to mankind.”
To hold to that position you would have to reject not only what He tells us in Philippians 2, you would also have to reject His Word in…
John 3:16 King James Version
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We then would actually be telling GOD that there is no possible way He could love mankind this much, right?
And if that be the case then, because we are locked inside the land of limitations and restrictions and our minds cannot conceive of such a thing, that we imagine that He would not do this at all, then wouldn’t we also be saying at the same time that, “GOD is a man that He should lie?“
rather than believing that “GOD is NOT a man that He should lie…? ” Numbers 23:19
If that’s the case then, it must also be our testimony that, “Our thoughts are above His thoughts”, right? as opposed to Isaiah 55:8-9. Once again, calling GOD a liar.
Or, if GOD is unable to take His Word and make it flesh, and abide with us in the form of man in order to both teach us His Ways, personally and relationally, –answering prayers through the ages– then we’re also saying at the same time that, He is not omnipotent.
In that case GOD is not omnipotent, unless I agree with how He operates in the earth.
Would I then be saying that GOD can not send His Word, make it flesh AND submit His Divine nature to His now fleshly nature in order to save me from my sin? His Word can not be made flesh, so that HE can walk out His Commandments, show me how to walk His Word out and follow His Commandments, and for extra insurance, cover all my mistakes as I do my utmost to obey Him, with a broken and a contrite heart?
Psalm 51:17, as David declared, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
Would that make His Word in Psalms 51:17 invalid also?
If it is my opinion, that GOD can not take His Word and make it flesh, showing me how walking in His Anointing of His Word will cover me, protect me, cause the enemy to have to bow before me, because of WHO abides within me, etc., then my opinion is more powerful than His Word? My opinion nullifies my salvation?
The GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would not go to the outermost limits to do everything in HIS POWER to make sure that we have every opportunity to be victorious in life and overcome the adversary?
That would mean that Genesis 3:15 is not true either.
Can GOD or would GOD, suppress/limit qualities of His Divine Nature in order to conquer our adversaries as a man-obedient to the Word, being that man had not obtained enough self discipline, wisdom, knowledge or understanding to walk in His Word by the 1st Century, in order to do it ourselves?
If not, then Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 2:17 must not be true either, right?

IN YOUR MINISTRY… You will engage at times, with many people that do not see the triune nature of GOD as they study scripture. It’s not deliberate. It’s just temporarily blocked from their view. To help them, you will have to challenge their biases and/or their dichotomies of thought… their all or nothing type of thinking.
in this mode, GOD can be one thing, but He can not be both. I all it kicking against the pricks! Something the Apostle Paul even suffered from at one time. He too thought that GOD could not do more than He thought at the time, or could imagine. He thought GOD could not move in a new direction, do a new thing, particularly...flip the script!
He was an absolute Torah Scholar, taught by Rabbi Gamaliel himself- Best of the Best. There’s no way, Jesus could be GOD!
As a student, Paul had learned all the mechanics of the Word from Gamaliel. He was able to quote scripture, expound and elaborate on difficult passages of the scriptures, just like “a son of a carpenter.” He perceived the letter of the law perfectly, but not the spirit. Anyone who challenged his neat little box of paradigms, he vehemently challenged.
Paul had all of the mechanics of scripture catalogued, but he had forgot that this is a spiritual work first! Paul was so blind to the spiritual, that he physically wanted to force compliance with his thoughts, his will, his way and the will of all those that could only see what he saw.
GOD chose to personally remind him of who was really calling the shots! His days of holding the coats of the accusers, was over. His “Choose this Day” moment had arrived. He had to decide to follow GOD, regardless of whether or not he understood every move GOD was making, or not.
He was either going to be led by The Spirit, or led by his own spirit and understanding into a place in eternity, that he could not recover from.
He had to make his choice.
Bottomline…
If we can’t believe in GOD’s Power over and above all of creation, how can we believe that He has any power to work in and through us?
