Man is a Speaking Spirit, Part 2B

Have you ever prayed at the shores of the sea and beheld the waves rise and fall at the sound and rhythm of your voice in prayer, rising higher, reaching farther than the season allows?

Have you ever stood at the shores of the sand and spoke into the atmosphere and watched as doves flew out of the waves of the water, as if being born by the words as you prayed, and come streaming in flight over head?

Have you prayed to pull down strongholds and saw the moon descend at your command?

Have you stood in the sides of midnight and commanded storms to cease and winds to bow and witnessed the response within minutes?

Have you commanded the rain to fall in a drought and witnessed the trees and plant life restored?

Have you commanded attacks on children and elders to cease and desist, and witnessed the fruit of your prayer within days?

Have you carried unborn babes through to birth as a midwife in prayer and seen them survive the dread and doubt of the decrees that block destiny?

These are a few examples of how the Holy Spirit can opt to train you in prayer.

If you have not experienced these or similar training sessions yet… then know, that you are well able to take the territory in Jesus Name.

There is a specific region, a territory assigned to each of us in prayer. There is an expanse in which faith and prayer, character, and consecration meet.  A zone, if you will; a prophetic grid that you can occupy in which all things are possible.  A place where the word flows out of you in heights that allows your spirit free to soar and flesh has no sound or presence or being… finally flesh is silent, submitted and still and the spirit is in control

This is the principality, power and dominion of prayer… this can be our dwelling place in prayer.

An Answer for a Torah Scholar

You asked me a very good question Scholar, and I want to take a moment and answer you here…

Let me respond to your question by sharing a short message first because your question is connected with a previous teaching that I presented entitled, Man is a Speaking Spirit.

GOD moves the heart of man.  Yes, certainly non-believers can be moved to obey GODs voice too.  Especially on behalf of the Righteous, i.e. those that believe in GOD.  GOD will /can cause them to obey in order to protect His People.  Our own spiritual condition has a great deal to do with the outcomes of our prayers.

Case in Point: GOD gave Pharoah space & time to repent and acknowledge Him but Pharaoh didn’t.  So eventually, GOD hardened his heart.  Once that occurred, even if Pharaoh had changed his mind and wanted to accept the knowledge of GOD, he was not going to be able to.  The clock was ticking on his obedience and he just ran out of time. Pharoah absolutely did not fear GOD, which caused him to ignore all signs and warnings, even those presented to him in the flesh.

Bottom line, a person needs spiritual discernment. But you can not have that and be so carnally minded too. One cancels out the other. We decide to let our spirit have dominion over our flesh, or our flesh to have dominion over our spirit. It’s a choice. God is Spirit, and those that serve Him must operate in the spirit. We can care for our spirit and allow it to arise, or not. There’s a choice to be made in the matter.

But How Do You Care for Your Spirit?

We care for our spirit through prayer. As we cultivate a prayer life, we cultivate our relationship with GOD. Prayer is truly a Garden of Eden Assignment.

Prayer to me, is the utmost sign you can possess of trusting GOD.  Prayer is not just a casual or causal-initiated experience. Prayer is meant to be a lifestyle. Prayer is mankind allowing his/her spirit to speak. Prayer is like a gift, that belongs only to the Most Faithful. By “Most” I mean, only to the Faithful that wields it.   I qualify that statement knowing, that not all “believers” will pursue, possess or desire a lifestyle of prayer. Prayer is simply seen as too burdensome, too demanding, too inconvenient for some. Too much of a mystery, too misunderstood, too much work for others.

The reason our spirits can be so much weaker than our flesh is simple. We care for the flesh far more than we care for our spirit. The flesh has needs and desires that are constantly fed and attended to. The spirit on the other hand, is nearly starved by far too many “believers”. How do we show care for our spirit? One day, hopefully, we will get to that in class, but for now the foundational answer I give to you, is to nurture our spirits with prayer.

Our spirits are nurtured by the anointing. What draws the anointing? Of course, humility, truth, love, kindness, mercy, tenderness, patience, every fruit of the spirit, etc. These are character traits of holiness. But what keeps these spiritual qualities rich and vibrant, alive and effective?

The Maintenance Program is Called Prayer.

Agreed, walking in the character and nature of these spiritual traits is quite the daily challenge, i.e. the need for prayer. Prayer is about submitting yourself to the LORD and judging yourself. One day soon, I trust, we will be able to walk through a journey in the word, on prayer, from a torah perspective, and together with the class, you shall see for yourself (more in depth) what I am saying right here.

I made the statement to you that, I have come to believe that the people of GOD are more easily identified because they respond to prayer. I think this is the ‘Next Millenium Marker’ given to the people of GOD to be able to discern each other spiritually. Not because we pray with each other, together out loud… and i”ve heard you pray. Prayer will be worn as a garment, that only the spiritually discerning can see. This will be what identifies us and how we identify each other.

Prayer is not just our weapon, prayer is our strongest and most valuable asset. The people of GOD may not be able to go to someone directly, to obtain what is needful…. for multiple reasons, but they have access to an intermediary. He speaks on our behalf and He has proven to move the hearts of man.

In your question, you also asked about, GOD moving the unbeliever’s heart through prayer. To this, I say, “I absolutely depend on it.”

Nonbelievers can be moved to obey GOD’s voice too. Especially on behalf of the Righteous.  GOD will /can cause them to obey to protect His People.  It depends on His Long term plans. What we must recognize is, that in our perception it could look like nothing is happening at all. Several times, we can misread a situation as unanswered prayer. Things can often appear as if they are getting worse. Example: GOD gave Pharoah space & time to repent and acknowledge Him but he didn’t.  So GOD hardened his heart.  Now, even if He wanted to obey, He couldn’t.  In the meantime, the situation appeared to some in Israel as if the situation was getting worse for them, but it was only getting better.Things became increasingly worse for Pharaoh, and he brought his disobedience to the door of the people. Pharoah did not require discernment or a prayer life, all he had to do was recognize and show reverence for GOD. The people and the land could have been blessed without him having one iota of a prayer life or one ounce of discernmentif he had just caught the revelation of who GOD is had been apprehended.

Bottom Line, a Person Needs Discernment.

Not everyone has it. But I do know how the person who desires a closer relationship with GOD can find it. GOD draws close to those who draw closer to Him. We can do that through prayer and character refinement. This doesn’t require any extra work. A dedicated, consecrated prayer life… greatly helps to refine character, all by itself. So that makes it easy.

Praying in the Spirit like a Samurai Warrior

Not too long ago, I was telling a friend of mine that her resume should no longer say, Prayer Warrior. It really doesn’t suit her. At one time perhaps, but not any longer.

This is how I see it. Everyone who is disciplined with expertise in their field moves like that person you see in the park, practicing tai chi. Smooth, deliberate, controlled, harnessed in power, with a skilled and disciplined spirit. The wisdom of experience is in every movement and spatial awareness is absolute. We must have these qualities in prayer.

DID YOU KNOW… There were Christian Samurai who represented Christ on the battlefield and in life. Yet, in order to protect their families from persecution, they hid their spiritual identities from the public,
wearing the engraved emblem of
Christ on the Cross in the hilt of their swords,

The Warrior for GOD is like this. They have relationship, they know who they are in life and they know who they are in prayer. They are constantly aware of their surroundings, their spirit is keen and perceptive. Mastery of their art is essential to life. They see movement in their mind’s eye. They are one with the sword. Every movement is perfected, their sword is a precision instrument. How equipped and skilled would you like to become in the Word of GOD?

Can you think of any skill set in which the person who has mastered their art, moves about haphazardly, disconnected, without control, power or discipline? I think not. They would only hurt themselves or someone else they care about.

Those skilled in their craft do not easily relinquish the time they have in applying themselves to their passion. Their dedication unto death (as Paul would say) is complete. I used the example of the Samurai because partly due to the fact that they are renowned for their faithfulness in service, their skill in battle and their oath to defend and protect the house they served. Rightfully so, these should be the character traits of the servants of GOD, who wield the sword of the spirit. It will always be, that our humility, faithfulness and teachable, yielded spirit, will open up treasure houses of wisdom, insight, vision, discernment, in our area of expertise.

You have engaged in the most important discipline or branch of knowledge, that you could possibly dedicate yourself to in the earth realm. You are charged with the protection, care and handling of souls. God is the ultimate caregiver, but you are the ambassador that He has chosen to allow His Power to flow through, for the benefit and blessing of His People. You are the vessel of choice.

Among us, there are those, that possess the bearing of a Samurai in prayer. They have moved beyond the restrictions and limitations of prayer warriors, to become humble shepherds and farmers in the natural… but when called to battle for the kingdom of Heaven, country and home… the Word of GOD is their weapon of choice and with it, they are precision marksmen in the spirit realm.

Prayer Must Be or Become Our Sword, Our Weapon of Choice.

It’s knowing how to use the Word of GOD in prayer and how to speak into the atmosphere that separates the Warriors of GOD. A lifestyle of Prayer is like living the life of a warrior in excellence…Always in training, always in contact with the King and the events of the realm.  A consecration to prayer is like keeping in contact with the King, knowing the events of the realm, demanding constant continuous practice using the sword of faith. Perfecting movements. Training the body to hone our skill with grace and finesse.

We will not always be perfect or measure up in man’s eyes. But that should never dissuade us to fight the good fight of faith. The Master of Prayer is continually listening to their weapon, which is the Word. They are separated and consecrated to a lifestyle of study, meditation, dedication to a higher cause, intimately engaged in every aspect of the Word.  Striving toward character refinement every day, pursuing justice, love and resisting all temptation toward the deadly pull of wicked character traits, such as loshon hara, evil speech. We can not expect to fight with the Word, while simultaneously using our tongues to lash out, gossip, lie, murmur or complain. These are not our weapons.

As intimately as a Samurai knows their own sword, we should come to know ourselves and the sword of the spirit.

Our hope rest in knowing this Word, which must become so fine-tuned in our spirit through relationship with GOD, that there is “no friction in the flow.” Our weapons are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.  They allow us to approach the battlefield with ease, confidence, and full of praise. We are well prepared and honored to represent the King of Kings. Knowing that we have fought this battle many times before in the spirit, in preparation for the day of victory, today or any day.

Like David, we know our weapons, and we know the armor that we must wear into the battle.

David was like a Samurai Warrior of Prayer. He knew the enemy, he knew himself, he knew GOD, as if he was the firstborn of GOD. David knew GOD as a son, not a friend, not a distant relative, and definitely not as a lower-level novice in training on the battlefield. David made the calculations required before going out to battle, his strategy to, wield all the weapons of GOD’s Words, available to him in the power of prayer.

This is the deposit of breath that was spoken into you, from your beginning. From the first time you ever heard GOD’s Word.  This is what you were prepared to do, called to do, from the time you were conceived in your mother’s womb. You are the answer GOD has sent into the earth, a speaking spirit, with the power to decree and declare a thing…  Dedicate and elevate yourself to prayer like an artisan, who knows no other way better than the Word...

Answer Us, LORD…

Aneinu, in Hebrew is an urgent plea for GOD to “Answer us.” It’s a beautiful prayer that gets to the heart of the matter, especially when you’re fasting for breakthroughs.

And especially when we are…

Praying for Your People LORD, and Believing that You Will Answer their every need… Set them in sure places on High, show them the little signs in all that they do that You will go before them in every situation and circumstance, daily they shall go from strength to strength, from courageous to unstoppable, give them that glimpse behind the veil that allows that moment to witness, to see and perceive that you will be a sanctuary for them in the places where they come to. Amen.

Ezekiel 11:16

And what shall we give GOD in return?

Give Him Words of Faith to work with… start today, even with a word as small as a grain of sand, until you build up your spiritual strength. Until you become a speaking spirit again. Until your flesh is no longer running things. Until your spirit is in full control of your flesh. Until your spirit is being led by the Spirit of GOD.

This Fast is for Divine Reversal, the day the spirit overcomes the flesh.

IT’S TIME TO DREAM DREAMS…

Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.” Isaiah 45:11 KJV

We Need These Five Things…

It’s time to respectfully place a demand on heaven for dreams, visions, insight, revelation and discernment.

Like Blind Bartimaeus, cry out for sight, from the Son of the Living GOD!

Be Relentless.

Mark 10:46-52 (KJV)

46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.

Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

The blind man said to Him, [a]“Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has [b]made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Arrive into Destiny Greeted by Prayer.

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. “ John 7:37 ( KJV)

I believe that we can become as trustworthy as Moses and there will be no more dark speeches, even in our dreams, even in our vision. He has demonstrated many times that He will change the entire system for His People. In a time when we need clarity the most, ask. God is Faithful.

Numbers 12:6 (KJV)

6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

MAN IS A SPEAKING SPIRIT

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7

Man is a Speaking Spirit

Gen 2:7 reads, “and man became a living soul.” There is an interpretation that is more precise… A more accurate interpretation. The verse actually says, “and man became a speaking spirit.”

ha’adam l’nef’fish kai’yah – adam (120) nephesh (5315) chai-yah (2416); The present English translation is not wrong, it’s incomplete and lacks the essence of the message.

ha’adam = the man, l’nephesh = to a soul, a being (6x) kai-yah = living, alive

“The man became a living being” is literally accurate.

Then Why am I presenting an alternate translation?

Because scripture is meant to be understood by us. It is written for us. Scripture is not just some bible story, meant to entertain or amuse. Scripture contains vital information, written for the purpose of supporting our spiritual life and purpose.

Literal interpretations are the beginning of knowledge. What else could GOD have packed into this verse, desiring us to understand?

The Power of Speech Was Not Given to Man for His Own Amusement.

Adam; Mankind/Human Beings became speaking spirits. Every living being, is created, with the purpose and potential of speaking in the spirit to the Spirit of GOD.

Let me repeat that…. Speaking in the spirit, to the Spirit of GOD

Literal interpretations never bring this fact to the forefront. They remain flat and incomprehensible to our spirit. As a consequence, we generally read, teach and hear the bible as a lovely fairy tale, rather than as a sacred text, given for the purpose of conveying spiritual matters.

Our logical, rational mind can easily hold a conversation with the literal. However, our spirit man needs to engage the Spirit of GOD in every message presented in the text of scripture.

The first language of mankind, was intended to be the language of the spirit. Whatever our individual native languages are, they are secondary to the spiritual language of GOD.

The Breath of GOD was breathed into Adam. An impartation of the Spirit of GOD. By this means, adam is created a speaking spirit, in the image and likeness of the Speaking Spirit of GOD.

Romans 8:16 says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit.” In order for this to happen, our spirit needs to be able to speak!

Watch Closely:

Above, I presented Gen 2:7, with the 2 Key-Words in Hebrew that I want you to keep an eye on. We are going to compare them to the same words in Gen 1:24.

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” 1 Cor 15:45

Contrast and Compare Genesis 2:7 and Gen 1:24

Information you will never see until you look at the Interlinear

Gen 2:And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Let’s take a look into the Strong’s Concordance:

  • Gen 2:7 ha’adam l’nephesh chai’yah
  • adam (120) nephesh / soul (5315) chai-yah / living (2416);
  • In the case of man, we translate the words nephesh chaiyah as ‘living soul’.

Gen 1:24  And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

  • Gen 1:24 ha’ air-retz (776) nephesh (5315) chai-yah (2416);
  • In the case of the animals, we translate the words nephesh chaiyah as ‘living creature’.

As you can see, two of the exact same words are used in both verses. In Gen 1:24, nephesh chaiyah is translated, ‘living creature’. In Gen 2:7, nephesh chaiyah is translated ‘living soul’.

The question we want to ask ourselves now is, Why are the English translations so dissimilar, when the Hebrew words are exactly the same?

That’s a good question and your instincts are right. They can both be translated either as living soul or living creature.

What is the distinguishing factor between them?

First, you need to know that it was through the insight of the Onkelos, that we arrive at the understanding of the alternate interpretation of the verse, “and man became a speaking spirit”.

Adam was created with words. Adam came to life as GOD spoke the words…”and man became a living soul.” GOD created man, with such reasoning skills and understanding of words, that he responded with life, as GOD spoke to him.

Man’s soul responded to the Speech of GOD.

GOD’s speech initiated our spiritual life. Man, like every other creature and created thing in the earth became, from the spoken Word of GOD. But man, is the only part of the creative work that responded in words.

Rabbi Kleinman and I agree. “Man connects to GOD through speech”. The act of speech is expressed through prayer, torah study, praise and worship. Torah study, rises above them all, as the highest form of praise by virtue of study, care and the preservation of GOD’s Word within our spirit.

On Day 18 in Praying with Fire by Rabbi Heshy Kleinman, he adds that “One who does not pray, then, is effectively muzzling his “speaking soul”, [a.k.a., his speaking spirit].

Man and creatures alike, became living souls. But man, as the crowning achievement of GOD, became even more. Man was given the ability to transcend his animalistic instinct and nature, to become a speaking spirit in the image and likeness of GOD. If he or she so desires.

The Breath of GOD… an impartation that imbued man’s spirit with the power to speak.

Man’s spirit was created to speak.

But the choice is still ours. We can deny our spiritual life. We can choose to disconnect from the spirit and allow our soul to slip away and descend to it’s lowest possible depth, even to the level of the beast. Which some chose to do with their lives.

How Do You Care For YOUR Spirit?

Man can cultivate his spirit with prayer, torah study, praise and worship. Man can activate every gift of the spirit and thrive, and arise into the character and nature of GOD…. into the full measure and stature of Christ Jesus. If we choose to do so.

So the new question becomes, what are we prepared to do with this spirit?

Prayer only knows,

Amen.

Who is Onkelos?

Targum Onkelos (or Onqelos), תרגום אונקלוס‬, is the official eastern (Babylonian) targum (Aramaic translation) to the Torah. However, its early origins may have been western, in Israel. Its authorship is attributed to Onkelos, a famous convert to Judaism in Tannaic times (c. 35–120 CE). (Excerpt from Wikipedia). The Targum is the spoken version or translations of the Jewish Scriptures, a.k.a., the Tanakh.

Onkelos is said to have been the nephew of the Roman Emperor Titus or Hadrian. (Through a sister of Hadrian’s). (Of course, there’s always a historical dispute). Nevertheless, the story goes that, “the Emperor asked Onkelos to go out and find something that wasn’t worth much today but that would be invaluable in the future. Onkelos found Judaism.”

1 Corinthians 12:9-16

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
