WE WILL MEET YOU AT PSALM 139:23–24

Today, while I was teaching a class in which we viewed a debate between a Christian and a Not-So-Much-a-Christian, I did not know that you had sent me a message containing your favorite verse in Scripture.

I was stunned. Your favorite verse, was the entire backbone for the teaching today!

These passages in YOUR FAVORITE VERSE, Psalm 139, truly convey the heart of the message that I sincerely hope I was able to transmit to my students.

What we witnessed in the language of the Liberal Christian was not the same heart expressed by King David in the Psalms.

GOD did not have free access to the temple within their heart. They did not want Him there.

There was no place for the Son of Man to lay His head.

By their own admission, He was not the final authority over their life. He was not permitted full access into certain parts of their life. He had access to that place over there, in the corner.

Faith in GOD had become, in their understanding, a license to live according to their own determination of what was right. They were crystal clear on this point: they believed they were free to do “whatever they feel is the right thing to do.”

They were living on the final page of the Book of Judges, last verse:

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.”
— Judges 21:25

Many Father Fractures were exposed in their relationship with GOD—not by choice. They were not trying to saying it out-loud. It wasn’t intentionally revealed. Nevertheless, there pain was plain enough for the entire class to see.

Their pain was accidentally released on-purpose, for us to pray!

There was brokenness and pain in their spirit, in their gestures, and even in the way they said His Name. I am sure they believed it was hidden behind pride, self-satisfaction, and what they called “Freedom in Christ Jesus.”

But their heart was bleeding all over the place.

They rejected the notion of someone judging them—particularly Christians judging them. Yet the Christian in the debate was the one appealing repeatedly to the written Word on the pages of Scripture.

And this is important:

GOD does not need us to sit in His seat of judgment.

He requires us to faithfully deliver His Word.

The Word can do its own work.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…”
— Hebrews 4:12

GOD wants us first to judge and examine ourselves, so that correction can take place now rather than being deferred until the final judgment.

This is our opportunity to reorient ourselves toward Him.

The people we witnessed are obviously seeking GOD. They call themselves by His Name. They identify themselves as followers of Christ.

So we pray.

We pray that every wall and every barrier they have erected around the wounded places of their hearts will come down so that they can truly meet with Him.

TODAY WE DECREE AND DECLARE A TOTAL SHIFT

They are coming off the page of Judges 21:25.

And, in prayer, we relocate them to:

PSALM 139:23–24

Their New Spiritual Residence.

TIME’S UP.

No more living in the pain of the past.

Whatever battle they are still fighting—however long they have been fighting it—we dispatch our prayers on their behalf.

We pray for release from captivity.

We pray for freedom to yield completely to GOD and His Word.

We pray that they will allow the Word to search their hearts.

We pray that they will give GOD full access.

Access to examine the heart.

Access to try the reins.

Access to uncover what hurts.

Access to confront what has been hidden.

Access to expose what has been governing from beneath the surface.

Access to bring them out of every place of bondage and into the freedom of knowing HIM fully.

In Jesus’ Name.

Help them, LORD, to pray Psalm 139:23–24—and mean it.

Help them receive Your Word and permit it to do its work in their hearts, minds, souls, spirits, and bodies.

In Jesus’ Name.

Amen.

THE PRAYER IS ALREADY IN THE PSALMS

Psalm 25:4–5

“Shew me thy ways… teach me thy paths. Lead me…”

Psalm 26:2

“Examine me… prove me; try my reins and my heart.”

Psalm 27:11

“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path…”

And then we arrive at:

Psalm 139:23–24

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

THE STAGES OF DIVINE DELIVERANCE ARE AT HAND

Our Prayer for Everyone Who Thinks Their Heart Cannot Be Seen by GOD

It was seen by mere mortals.

GOD SEES YOU.

Therefore:

BE THOU BRAVE AND VERY COURAGEOUS…

SEARCH — Allow GOD to investigate the situation. Give Him full, unfettered access.

KNOW — Let His Word penetrate and reveal the true condition of your heart—and ours.

TRY — Be brave enough to allow Him to test the quality of what is within you—and within us.

KNOW OUR THOUGHTS — Have the courage to allow Him to examine even those things within you—and within us that have not yet become speech or action.

SEE — Ask Him to identify every destructive path operating within you—and within any of us.

LEAD — Have the courage and confidence to allow Him not merely to expose what is wrong, but to redirect you—and us.

THE EVERLASTING WAY — Let Him establish all of us upon the path that belongs to GOD.

YOU ARE NOT IN THIS ALONE.

You matter.

And we are all in this together.

When one member becomes healthier, we all become healthier.

When one member becomes stronger, we all become stronger.

When one member heals, the Body becomes more healed.

When one member becomes fit for the Master’s use, we all become that much more fit for the Master’s use.

There is no shame in saying:

“Search me.”

There is courage in it.

There is no defeat in saying:

“Try me.”

There is surrender in it.

There is no condemnation in saying:

“Show me what is in me.”

There is freedom waiting on the other side of the answer.

And there is no weakness in saying:

“Lead me.”

That is the language of someone who has finally decided:

Nothing hidden.
Nothing withheld.
No locked rooms.
No forbidden corners.
No area of my heart where GOD is told, “You cannot come in here.”

The King has access to the entire house.

And so our prayer is not:

“LORD, prove that they are wrong.”

Our prayer is:

“LORD, bring all of us completely under the searching light of Your Word.”

Search them.

Search us.

Know them.

Know us.

Try them.

Try us.

Heal them.

Heal us.

Lead them.

Lead us.

Until there is nothing left between our hearts and the GOD we say we love.

Amen.

We will meet you at Psalm 139:23–24.

That is your new spiritual residence.

WHY A COMPANY OF PSALMISTS?

Throughout Scripture, we see communities of people gathered around prophetic, priestly, musical, and intercessory assignments.

There were companies of prophets.

There were singers appointed for worship.

There were watchmen stationed upon the walls.

There were priests who stood before YHVH on behalf of the people.

This campaign draws upon that biblical pattern of people united around a consecrated spiritual assignment.

We are forming:

Not merely people who read the Psalms.

Not simply people who admire the Psalms.

But intercessors who will pray them, speak them, declare them, and carry them before GOD on behalf of others.

We are currently recruiting the first company of 300 intercessors.

Each person accepts a daily prayer field of approximately:

185,000 PEOPLE

That number is inspired by the remarkable account recorded in 2 Kings 19:35 and Isaiah 37:36, when one angelic intervention affected 185,000 in the Assyrian camp.

Our application is intentionally the opposite in purpose:

Where that event demonstrated judgment and deliverance, we are asking:

What could happen if believers stood before GOD consistently for groups of 185,000 people, pleading for mercy, repentance, protection, deliverance, reconciliation, and salvation?

This is an intercessory assignment—not a claim that Scripture promises one individual automatic spiritual jurisdiction over exactly 185,000 people. –But, because we are BOLD people of faith, we have enough faith to believe GOD will bless this vision and plan.

The 185K number gives us an organized global prayer model.

SEVEN PSALMS EVERY DAY

Each intercessor prays seven Psalms daily over his or her assigned prayer field. (envision yourselves covering the 185K)

The complete Book of Psalms contains 150 Psalms.

At seven Psalms per day:

Days 1–21: seven Psalms daily
Day 22: Psalms 148–150

Then the rotation begins again.

This means the entire Psalter is completed approximately every 22 days.

Over one year, each assigned prayer field can have the entire Book of Psalms prayed over it approximately:

THE PSALMS PROVIDE THE PRAYER POINTS

One of the strengths of this vision is simplicity.

You do not need to invent a new prayer agenda every morning.

The Psalms themselves establish the prayer points.

As the Psalter rotates, you will naturally pray concerning:

Mercy and Forgiveness

Deliverance

Psalms 18, 34, 40

Wisdom and Direction

And throughout the entire Psalter:

The prayer points are already written.

Our assignment is to pray them, to declare and decree them out loud.

SPEAK THE WORD OUT LOUD

Intercessors are encouraged to read and recite the Psalms out loud.

Where appropriate, pray the passages in the third person over your assigned field.

Use language such as:

We

Us

They

Them

Their

For example, instead of reading a promise only as:

“He shall cover thee with his feathers…”

you may prayerfully apply it:

“Cover them with Your feathers. Let them trust under Your wings. Let Your truth become their shield and buckler.”

The goal is to remain conscious that you are standing in prayer for people beyond yourself.

You are carrying families.

Cities.

Nations.

Children.

Leaders.

The broken.

The lost.

Those who do not yet know that someone is praying for them.

But GOD has called you, secretly — to intercede on their behalf.

A YEARLY CONSECRATION

Joining The First 300 is more than signing up for a mailing list.

It is a personal consecration before GOD for the year.

Scripture treats promises made before GOD seriously.

“When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it…”

— Ecclesiastes 5:4 KJV

A company of 300 intercessors, each praying over a field of approximately 185,000 people, represents:

That is one company.

The larger vision calls for:

With each carrying a 185,000-person prayer field:

45,000 × 185,000

8.325 BILLION PEOPLE

Using an 8.3-billion-person world-population model, that provides approximately:

And because each intercessor prays seven Psalms daily:

This is not about impressive numbers.

It is about realizing what can happen when individual obedience becomes collective obedience.

STANDING AT THE GATES

The heart of this vision comes from Isaiah:

“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night…”

— Isaiah 62:6 KJV

We are asking intercessors to stand spiritually at the gates.

To pray when others are asleep.

To pray for people they may never meet.

To speak mercy where there is judgment.

To ask for deliverance where there is oppression.

To ask for repentance where there is rebellion.

To ask for protection where there is danger.

To ask for wisdom where there is confusion.

To ask for salvation where people remain far from GOD.

To call inactive believers to the call to self-less prayer.

MIRRORING A COMPANY OF PROPHETS

Scripture repeatedly shows servants of GOD functioning in companies and communities.

The strength was not merely in the individual.

It was also in:

shared assignment

shared consecration

shared obedience

shared purpose

shared accountability

We are asking for that same spirit of collective dedication.

One person praying faithfully matters.

Three hundred praying faithfully establishes a company.

One hundred fifty companies establishes a global network.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT FAME

No intercessor needs a platform.

No one needs a title.

No one needs an audience.

You need:

A Bible.
A willing heart.
A disciplined prayer life.
Seven Psalms.
A commitment to stand.

Much of the most important work in the Kingdom is done where nobody applauds.

But Heaven sees.

let me begin by introducing a few new words in the passage.

A few observations:

(1) There are two different words translated as ‘seeking’ in Psalm 24:6. When the same exact word is repeated in a passage of text, we know that special emphasis is being placed on that particular word for a reason. Scripture is drawing us in close and asking us to focus. It’s a hermeneutic GOD uses in order to get us to pay attention.

Repetition means Something Special!

The Rabbi’s noticed this very early in their studies of scripture which is why Rabbi Eliezer ben Jose ha-Gelili established this as one of his Hermeneutical Rules # for studying the Torah; Rule 3 Ribbuy ahar Ribbuy.

Imagine us having a live conversation and I kept repeating the same word, over and over. Eventually, you would ask me, “Why do you keep saying that?” You would immediately know that I was doing it intentionally, so you would- chances are- ask me about it.

When GOD repeats Himself two or more times in a passage, a paragraph, or even across chapters, that is exactly what He is doing!

There has to have been a few times, when you have been reading the bible and asked yourself, “Why does He keep saying that?, or “He already said that!” and we can usually look directly at the context to gain insight as to why that is happening.

(2) What I find interesting here is that two completely different words are being used to express the concept of ‘seeking.’ So, we have to stop and ask ourselves, Why?

The same exact words repeated within a passage is one thing. But here we have two completely different words, whose meanings are very similar. So what is happening here? Now we really have to look even closer!

The double wording means something much more significant than simply saying “seeking” twice.

Psalm 24:6 is part of a deliberate biblical pattern in which דָּרַשׁ (darash) and בָּקַשׁ (baqash) are placed beside one another intentionally.

So, our next question is…”Have we ever seen these words together before in the scripture?” If so, we gain special insight.

I’m going to pause here a minute so that we can refresh our memory…

THE DOR OF THEM THAT SEEK HIM….

dalet (d) is a door.

The dor will be open to the select and elect of a generation- not to everyone.

Dor in Hebrew is a big word, so we have to spend some time looking at it.

dor is spelled, dalet (d) var (o) reish (r)

dalet (d) in Hebrew not only means poor, it represents a door post, a path, access, movement in and out, a pathway.

vav (0) represents the nail, a man, connection, joining, etc.

and the reish (r) represents man, headship,

Combined, these letters convey the message of access to, or movement toward headship, a path to headship… Regardless of which specific words we use, we arrive at the same understanding: door – connection – headship

Also, we must consider that what headship and leadership mean to us, is not the same thing as it means to GOD, according to His Language.

PSALM 24

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the DOR (generation) of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Our FOCUS: This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. (KJV)

To answer your question, we’re going to look for patterns… So, thw first thing we are going to do is to ask ourselves…

1. Where do דָּרַשׁ and בָּקַשׁ appear together?

Psalm 24:6 reads:

זֶה דּוֹר דֹּרְשָׁיו מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה

“Such is the generation of those who seek [דֹּרְשָׁיו] Him, who seek [מְבַקְשֵׁי] Your face…” (ESV)

The closest parallel is extremely important:

Jeremiah 29:13וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּם אֹתִי… כִּי תִדְרְשֻׁנִי בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶםNearly reproduces Deut. 4:29: baqash Me → darash Me with all your heart.
Zephaniah 1:6לֹא־בִקְשׁוּ אֶת־יְהוָה וְלֹא דְרָשֻׁהוּThe negative counterpart: they neither baqash YHWH nor darash Him.
Judges 6:29וַיִּדְרְשׁוּ וַיְבַקְשׁוּIn an investigation: “they inquired and searched.” This shows the verbs can function together outside devotional language too.
Job 10:6תְבַקֵּשׁ לַעֲוֹנִי… תִדְרוֹשׁBoth used for searching/investigating guilt.
Ezekiel 34:6וְאֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ וְאֵין מְבַקֵּשׁNo one “searched/inquired” and no one “sought” the scattered sheep.

There are additional occurrences of this specific word combination in scripture, but these passages (listed above in the chart) establish the point decisively:

The pairing is intentional Biblical Hebrew, and Psalm 24:6 is especially connected with Psalm 105:4  and 1 Chronicles 16:11. A Hebrew concordance actually groups several of these under a category equivalent to “דרש and בקש together.”

Watch the Deuteronomy–Jeremiah connection:

Deuteronomy 4:29
בקשׁ YHVH → find Him → דרשׁ Him with all heart and soul

Jeremiah 29:13
בקשׁ Me → find Me → דרשׁ Me with all your heart

That looks very much like an established covenantal formula rather than random synonym choice. This is the generation that stands at the door!

Psalm 24 is arranged almost like an entrance liturgy:

Psalm 24:3 asks:

“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?”

Then vv. 4–5 describe the person who may approach: clean hands, pure heart, no idolatrous vanity, no false oath.

Then v. 6 identifies those people collectively:

זֶה דּוֹר דֹּרְשָׁיו
zeh dor dorshav
“This is the generation of them that seek him…”

There is even a striking sound/word relationship:

דּוֹר — dor — generation
דֹּרְשָׁיו — dorshav — those seeking Him

So the line almost sounds like:

DOR → DORSHAV
THE GENERATION → THE GENERATION THAT SEEKS

And then the verse intensifies it:

מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ
mevaqshei panekha
“that seek Thy face.”

That is crucial. They are not merely seeking information about God. They are seeking פָּנִים — His face/presence.

Let me repeat that: They are seeking His Presence.

Then immediately:

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.”
— Psalm 24:7 KJV

That creates a remarkable progression:

WHO MAY ASCEND?
Psalm 24:3

THE CLEAN-HANDED / PURE-HEARTED

THE KING OF GLORY ENTERS
Psalm 24:7–10

There is therefore a profound theological relationship between the generation that seeks and the opening of the gates into the sphere of divine presence.

NOTE: Psalm 24 does not literally say, “God opens the door for those who seek Him.” Rather, the text moves from the people qualified to stand in His holy place to the gates being commanded to open for the King of Glory.

But, as you can see, GOD opens the dor to those that seek Him and He reveals His Presence. The implicit meaning is the connection we need to obtain. The play on words, dor and door; darash and bakash (along with the rhyme and the rhythm).

So the connection that most addresses your question is:

The generation (DOR) who truly seeks (DARASH) Him is the generation prepared to enter His holy place and encounter His Presence; and when that generation seeks (BAKASH) His face, the Psalm immediately turns to the lifting of the everlasting doors for the entrance of the King of Glory.

God is not merely awarding or rewarding “seekers.” He has entered into a covenantal promise to appear before the generations that enter into covenant keeping devotion in pursuit of His Person and Presence.

And there may be an even deeper reciprocal movement here:

MAN SEEKS THE FACE OF GOD — Psalm 24:6
↓
THE DOORS ARE LIFTED — Psalm 24:7
↓
GOD HIMSELF COMES IN — Psalm 24:7–10

So seeking His presence culminates not merely in man reaching God, but in God coming into their midst as the King of Glory.

That makes Psalm 24:6–10 especially powerful:

They seek His face → the gates rise → His Presence enters.

And Psalm 105:4 supplies the continuing command:

“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.”

So the דור — generation of Psalm 24 is characterized not by ancestry or chronological age alone, but by a spiritual connection, devotion and disposition:

A DOR is identified by what it DARASHES.

The Generation = Those Who Seek Him.

That’s pretty amazing, don’t you think?

His Remnant Remains..

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 (KJV)

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

alive =  zah’-o = living, live; not lifeless, not dead

Let’s examine what it means to be ‘alive’ according to scripture, rather than what we think it means…

Acts 17:28 KJV

For in Him we live (zah’o), and move, and have our being (ay-MEE); as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

You can be living and yet lifeless (spiritually dead).

Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4, make it clear that man CANNOT live by bread alone – we need another level of sustenance BECAUSE we need strength and power and life to thrive in the spiritual.

There’s a spiritual realm that we need to live in, we are called to live in. We get distracted by the physical/natural realm because of it’s over bearing presence.

Living in HIM is a spiritual relationship. By living in HIM, we become… we are… The word for ‘being’ is originates from the Greek word ay-MEE (pronounced just like the name Aimee). ay-MEE is a verb. Verbs indicate action, right? ay-MEE, translates as, I exist.

In HIM we connect to our spiritual life, the gifts are stirred up, and our purpose for our existence is activated and we become what we are supposed to become… we move in purpose and destiny. ay-MEE can also be translated as; am, have been, it is I, was.

Do you hear a remez to the GOD of Heaven, “Who Was and Is and Will Be?” ay-MEE is referring to our being in the image and likeness of Christ.

When we apply this knowledge back into…

1 Thessalonians 4: 15 (KJV)

For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive (zah’o) and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

We which are alive, zah-o in Christ – those in His Image and Likeness, survivors. The word remain has its roots in the Greek word loipon which means to remain (perileipomai), in the sense of being left behind – a remnant left behind – for this moment in time. There’s a connection to time. There’s a clock ticking in the application of the word leipo.

The same words appears again in verse 17.

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Then we which are alive in Christ, bearing His Image and Likeness, (His mark upon us, is His Name upon us) and remain – the remnant that remains awaiting His Return… verse 15 informs us that we wont precede those that have already ‘fallen asleep’ in Christ… but we (the remnant) will follow them in due time.

The Book of Revelation is oftentimes set at a distance because of the weight of its symbolism. You have to press pass the obstacles created by our culture, those words that have dropped in our spirit by other voices, their biases and preconceived notions and just study the text while allowing the vision to speak, uninterrupted by our own carnal thoughts.

As I so often say, it is the vision of Jesus Christ, revealed to the Apostle John, when he was in the Spirit on the Lords Day.

A vision that was given to him by the Spirit when he was in the Spirit.

GOD is speaking to the Spirit of man, through the Spirit. If we can not get our flesh out of the way, so that we can see and hear what the Spirit of GOD is saying to the church, if we can not allow our Spirit to flow with the Spirit of GOD, then we will continue to view the Book of Revelation as difficult, confusing, beyond comprehension.

Paul wanted to ‘comfort us’ with these words. We should be comforted by the Book of Revelation. It truly is the Good News!

As we enter into the Day of Rosh Hashanah – The LORD’s Day, we are joyful becasue those that are with Him have yet another rehearsal party!

We did the work this year, we search our hearts, took an accounting of our souls in the month of Elul, we know where we stand spiritually and the work we need to do this year, we have allowed the LORD access to our hearts, our minds, our souls, not shutting anything out from Him.

The Spiritual Work Days come to a close and we are ready to do our part to complete the work of GOD in the Earth. I pray that we all walk in our assignment and calling. Do our best work for GOD and give glory to Him in all that we set our hands to accomplish this year…

GOD has saw fit that we make it to this point in time. We lost some along the way this year. Is there a mantle that fell from our loved ones that we need to pick up, and complete the assignment? Is there something that we can do to finish the work they began? What honor is there that we can bring to those that we have lost?

What part of the legacy can we complete? for them and for ourselves?

Some are saying once more that the LORD is coming this Rosh Ha Shanah, and that time is up within the next two days!

I am not seeing that at all. I have work to do and I know it. GOD’s not giving me a pass on any of it! Im certain about that.

So if the world does not end by the 24th, blame me. I’m sure it’s my fault. I have an entire list of things I still want to accomplish!

If I meet you in Heaven on the 25th, you can tell me all about how wrong I was, while we celebrate at the Wedding Feasts of the Lamb!

Spiritual Preparation for Rosh Ha’Shanah – PSALM 91:6-10 A Message from the King!

Continuing in the Series….Psalm 91:6 KJV

Review this excerpt from Sefaria.com of Psalm 91:6-10 in the Aramaic.

We’re stripping the poetic mindset of this Psalm out of our minds. “The death that walks in darkness…” is not a poetic turn of phrase. Darkness, (mot) is one of the high ranking gods of the Canaanite pantheon.

Note that there is a conversation happening between King David (v1-8), his son Solomon (v9) and the LORD (v10). David is speaking and teaching how to operate in the spirit, and Solomon IMMEDIATELY APPLIES IT!

This is a very instructive moment!

This conversational nature of the psalm is missing in the KJV, which is an added element that I believe is essential for us to be aware of. I find it enlightening. I hope you do as well.

The Spirit of Darkness is the Spirit of Death

Darkness is not just the color, the form, or the feeling of night. Scripture is applying a euphemistic description of darkness to alert us to ‘a darkness that we can feel’, a darkness that contains a presence, a spirit of death.

Here’s what we need to understand and do: “YOU WILL INVOKE THE HOLY NAME!” (verse 7).

In the KJV we have the instructions. In the Aramaic we have an added instruction… “Invoke the Holy Name! That’s important to know, right?

Remember, Aramaic is spoken in the Temple. The Torah was taught in the Aramaic tongue for the masses – because it was the language of Jews in the 1st Century; the Temple language. When we read from the Aramaic, we’re basically hearing how the passages of scripture were taught.

Through the lens of the history, culture and times, we gain another perspective which can help us understand why the disciples of Yeshua were so effective in their ministries of healing and deliverance, casting out sickness and disease, etc. They had a different level of understanding about their declarations and decrees in the spirit.

Some of us are still trying to really tap in and believe that our words really have power in the spirit. Those that already receive that level of wisdom, need the next step – speaking from a place of faith-believing; filled with wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Know what your saying and why…

In Aramaic (v10), we can see that GOD is confirming the words that King David is speaking and teaching. We aren’t seeing that in the KJV. In the Aramaic, we find there’s an immediate confirming Word.

Read verse 10 – as Your confirming Word – EVERY TIME YOU READ IT! We have to rehearse this NEW INFORMATION in our spirit until we automatically understand and apply it as we speak!

Make a note in your Bibles of the conversational nature of these passages. When you speak the Psalm, going forward, hear the conversation in your speech as you recite the words. This will shift your perspective greatly and add more power, presence and weight to what the Word is teaching us to speak.

Reciting the Psalms in English – consider that the beginning of wisdom. There’s more beneath the surface. You are no longer just reciting words… your speech will be laced with wisdom, knowledge and understanding!

This is Huge in the Realm of the Spirit!

It takes practice. It’s like learning the Psalm all over again. But, make the effort. This is the only way that you will know if any of these distinctions matter – When you see for yourself! Amen.

Don’t let the fleshly mind cause you to dismiss this. Let your spirit have a say so! Let your spirit lead in this conversation and see if these things be true! Amen.

Spiritual Preparation for Rosh Ha’Shanah – PSALM 91:5

A Message from the King!

Review this excerpt from Sefaria.com of Psalm 91:1-6

Remember: Aramaic was the common language of the Jews in the 1st Century. As a consequence of their captivity in Babylon for so many years, the majority of the people spoke Aramaic. Hebrew was the language of the Temple (Priesthood, Scribes, Pharisees, Rabbi’s, etc).

The Aramaic translation is important for us to hear because it provides us insight into the 1st Century teachings of the passages. Listen to the 1st six verses of the Psalm from the Aramaic translation. Listen in and see how the language makes it abundantly clar that this Psalm was written for the express purposes of teaching Solomon and the people of GOD how to overcome demonic forces.

Let’s Listen in…

While the KJV is our primary (and much needful) source of translation, the Aramaic makes it plain that this Psalm was written to exorcise demonic forces. The Aramaic sets aside the prose of King James and firmly sets our boots on the ground so that we can know exactly what GOD is saying to us through King David and the message that David is transmitting down through the generations through his son.

Understanding the ORIGINAL languages is paramount to understanding scripture. For all of those seeking greater revelation wisdom and understanding, an English ONLY perspective from the Western lens and perspective of scripture will not suffice any longer.

We have to go deeper.

Many of us know Psalm 91 by heart. However, we know the surface level prose of Psalm 91. This special series of teachings on Psalm 91 is for the purpose of getting you past the literary prose and into the prophetic power of the passages.

Proclaiming Psalm 91 from a position of wisdom, knowledge and understanding strengthens the position from which you speak in the spirit realm. You are gaining a deeper level of knowledge behind the words and that fortifies your position and authority from which you are able to speak.

When you shift into the place of your authority, your words carry more weight!

IN THE FIRST 6 VERSES… King David is decreeing and declaring whose Name, power and authority he is speaking in (and teaching us to do the same). He is identifying the enemy and how the enemy operates. Where the KJV gives us a poetic description of what they do, in the Aramaic King David is naming names and providing confirmation of how they operate in our realm.

King David is instructing his son (and all of us) to stay under the shelter of GOD, under His Wings – don’t let anything separate you from the anointing of GOD! We can all be confident in His truth and faithfulness; TRUST HIM, more than anything you trust in the natural. Trust GOD.

This is a King, carrying a message containing everything that he has learned from the King of Kings, speaking to the soon to be King, His son, and his Kingdom.

Study these passages and learn these precepts sent by the King.
