Be Angry and Sin Not… (Ephesians 4:25-27)

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

Do you think Christians are not allowed to get angry?

Some families communicate to their children that they shouldn’t be angry. That instead of being angry, they need to smile and pretend everything is ok. That, “old fake it till you make it”, remedy does not work. That is not biblical.

In the bible, in the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) we meet a God who is angry at injustice because He loves the people who are being harmed by it.

When the Apostle Paul says, “In your anger do not sin”, he is not saying don’t be angry. When people are harmed, enslaved, neglected and mistreated, we should be angry.

Apostle Paul is teaching we can be angry without sinning. We can use the righteous energy of our anger to effect change without sinning against God or others.

Remember, you are fighting the good fight of faith .

Ask God to show you the strategy and tactics to change the situation. Remain proactive.

1 Corinthians 15:58

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Nothing you do for the Lord is in vain.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for being a God of justice. Teach me what it means to share your righteous anger and to be faithful in my response as your disciple.
