Before we look further at the Spirit of GOD revealed as a Co-Equal Partner in the Triune Nature of GOD, I want to show you the Son of Man revealed prophetically on the pages of scripture and Who is revealing His Coming to us and the way in which He does it.
In this post as a Intro into the discussion on the Son of Man, I am providing you several prophetic passages of scripture for you to review.
After you read the passages, I want you to ask yourself the following questions… (listed beneath the verse or verses).
This is called, “Building Up a Family of Text from a p’shat level (literal reading only) of the text!
GOD IS ASKING A FEW QUESTIONS OF US… LET’S ANSWER HIM?
Let’s look at the p’shat on PROVERBS 30:1-6…
Proverbs 30 is difficult to date exactly because Agur son of Jakeh is otherwise unknown. It is most likely written/collected hundreds of years before Jesus; possibly around 700–500 BC, meaning about 500–700 years before Christ.
However, If Agur was near the Solomonic wisdom era, Proverbs 30 could be about 900–1000 years before Christ.
Looking at verse 4- Who gather’s the wind in His fists? Who has the power to bind the waters in a garment?
What is His Name?
What is His Son’s Name?
Who is giving us this prophecy approx. 1000 years before Christ?
Who is the focus of this Prophetic Word?
Whose Word should we trust about this coming Son?
Who will be a shield for us? Where have we heard this before?
Give me the p’shat on PSALM 2…
PSALMS 2 WAS WRITTEN APPROXIMATELY 1, 000 YEARS BEFORE JESUS — traditionally Davidic
Some modern scholars classify Psalm 2 as a royal psalm from Israel’s monarchy period, often broadly somewhere in the 10th–6th centuries BC, so even with a cautious scholarly range it is still centuries before Christ.
READ THE ENTIRE PSALM FOR CONTEXT AND TELL ME…
Who is speaking?, Who are they speaking to?, Who is being spoken against? Who is speaking in verse 7?
Who is GOD setting upon His Holy Hill in Zion?
Who is speaking in verse 8 and who are they speaking to? In verse 12, Who should be kissed and by whom?
Whose wrath should we fear?
Psalm 2 – A Prophetic Word given approx. another 1000 years before Christ.
What must the nations do to be blessed?
…and WHO is the one coming that will bless them?
And how specifically does He refer to this someone?
Now, MICAH 5:2…
Micah 5:2 was written about 700 years before Christ.
Who is speaking? and Who are they speaking to?
Who is coming forth out of Bethlehem?
And Who is He coming unto?
Who is to be Ruler of israel?
Whose going’s forth have been from old? from EVERLASTING?
700 years before the 1st century AD, one is being foretold, who is coming from Everlasting? Who is the only one in the scriptures spoken of as “EVERLASTING”?
By many infallible proofs, please confirm, “Who bears the title Everlasting?”
Ref: Gen 21:33, Psalm 41:13, 90:2, 93:2, 100:5, 103:17, 106:48…
By many more infallible proofs, please confirm, “Who has an everlasting covenant?“
Ref: Gen 9:16, 17:7, 13, 24:8, 2 Samuel 23:5, 1 Chron 16:17, Psalm 105:10…
So, who is the Everlasting, calling “the Everlasting?“
Is He speaking to Himself, about Himself? or is He speaking to us about One who is to come?
Give me the p’shat on ZECHARIAH 12:10…
Zechariah 12:10 was written about 500 years before Christ, with some scholarly debate over whether Chapters 9–14 were finalized later.
Who is speaking? Who are they speaking to?
Who is He Speaking about?
Who shall mourn for Him? How bitter shall their mourning be?
Who are all of these context clues referring us to, 500 years before Christ is born?
You have received a prophetic Word and confirmation from David, Micah, Zechariah, and Solomon about the soon coming King…
What have you learned so far?
Are you seeing a pattern being revealed from over 1000 years of scripture from four different prophets?
What is the central most important point that scripture is showing us?
What language is being used to point to this central fact?
Is there anyone who has lived so far that fits the description given on the pages of scripture? Has anyone else who fits this description lived before?
What’s the p’shat on PSALM 110:1?
Psalm 110:1 is traditionally dated to David’s lifetime, around 1000 BC, which places it about 1,000 years before Jesus.
Written by: Traditionally, David. The Psalm’s superscription identifies it as “A Psalm of David,” and Jesus refers to David speaking this Psalm “by the Holy Spirit” in Mark 12:36.
Adoni – pronounced ah-Doe- nigh,
—translates to “My LORD”
la’adoni = unto or to My LORD
Who is speaking? Who are they speaking to?
Is the speaker relating something that has happened to a listener?
Who is The LORD?
Who is My LORD?
If the speaker is calling the 3rd Person in the conversation, “My LORD” what is that telling you?
Let’s go through the p’shat on HEBREWS 1:1-6 KJV
Who is speaking? Who is he speaking to?
(V1) Who is he speaking about? Who is he speaking to?
(V2) GOD is speaking to us about who?
(V2) Who did GOD appoint Heir of All Things?
(V2) By whom or through whom is GOD saying, “He also made the worlds?”
(V3) Whose Glory & Image does the Son possess?
(V3) Who purged our sins and sat down by the Right Hand of the Majesty of GOD?
(V4) Who is higher than the angels?
(V5) Did GOD ever say to the angels, “Thou art My Son?”
(V6) Is the Son worthy of worship of the Angels?
Isn’t GOD a Jealous GOD? Why now is it OK to worship someone other than Him?
Or is GOD trying to tell us that the Son is equal to Him in Nature and Character?
